For those who did not venture into the bar at today's game, John Laidlar will be putting a photograph on the club website tomorrow. The shirt was on show on the bar. Recieved a very favourable response from those I spoke to.
-
For those who can't wait, what's the predominant colours?

-
absolute no
we cant sing YELLLLLLLLLLOWWWWSSS if we wear that!
(however its much better than that white away shirt we had last season)
-
red and white stripes as a home kit.
blue and gold stripes as an away kit.
red and black stripes as a 3rd kit.

And it comes with a free glass of wine!!

Out of interest, why are we changing our away kit after one season?

I have that shirt :) was my old Hale Barns shirt before they became Altrincham Juniors.....
I miss this shirt

is that called macclesfield Blue ? God we'll be playing in green next, it should never happen.
blue and yellow stripes gets my vote
-
League rules wont allow striped 2nd kit.
well you learn something new every day!
what about blue and yellow halves or quarters?
-
Lets not start a "we will never play in red and black" followed by a vote, followed by everyone saying how great it would have been.
Looks good, go with it I say.
-
I'm getting a feeling of deja vu here. Wasn't the blue shirt suggested a couple of seasons ago and rejected as being to Macc like? I'd like to see the white with red trim shirt we had the season Mark Sertori was playing (whatever year that was).
-
let's stick our necks out a bit here and go for a pink kit.
Dislike blue, loathe green. Not mad keen on yellow either.
Pink and White Quarters. that'll get my vote.
-
How about the brown kit worn by coventry in the seventies
-
We should never play in blue or green, looks like a Macc kit :-[
-

ooooh that was grim. saw them in that at maine road. awful!
-

agreed.
-
I've half a mind to just copy and paste the thread from this close season.
I shall just put my two pennyworth.....we should never play in macclesfield blue or green.
our traditional away colour is YYEEELLLLOOOOOWWW or sky blue
I like the idea of the return of white with red trim....and I also like the pink which has a real promotable message.
-
PINK!
-
No pink, no pink quarters unless you want to look like a camp Wycscum Wanderer!
-
I'm sorry but we just can't have that as our away kit, it is a Maccc shirt.
No, No, No.
-
No to a blue shirt. Or a green one. All yellow suits us fine.
-
No pink, no pink quarters unless you want to look like a camp Wycscum Wanderer!
Or Everton.
Pink! c'mon show yer nerves Alty FC and play in pink.
-
I'm getting a feeling of deja vu here. Wasn't the blue shirt suggested a couple of seasons ago and rejected as being to Macc like?
Exactly. Can't believe this has come round again! Did people think we'd have mellowed on the idea of wearing a Macclesfield shirt as our away kit?
No, no, no!
-
Tried a navy blue version, but got knocked back by the league. Perhaps time has come for another kit supplier? Supplying Quartered Shirts, Pink Shirts , Brown Shirts or anything other than what I would call "base colours" is a non starter for me, unless we could sell 100s of replicas. Hence the royal blue option.

It is a stock shirt in my range.

-
Although I have access to Prostar, my own range (SKkits) does not have a pink shirt. Mixing Manufacturers is not a good idea in my eyes.
-
Ah!
-
Yes, i could have a pink shirt manufactured, but minimum 25 in each size, that is 300 shirts, would you take that gamble?
-
I still don't understand why we're getting rid of the yellow away shirt after only one season?
-
For the record, I actually don't mind that blue shirt too much. I think the black and white bits make it different enough from a Macc kit to be acceptable as an Alty kit. :)
-
All clubs look to make amendments to one of shirts every season, Alty are no different. Yellow kit wil still be available to use if required.

Actually navy blue/white trim, exactly my thoughts on the Macc issue, I have another shirt available in royal blue that is as close to Macc's shirt as you could get.

Sorry, that's my dodgy eyesight letting me down there! ;) I say go with it, I reckon we'll sell a few as it looks quite smart.

Why would you even consider putting out a kit that looks so similar to Macc's? Are there not more yellow/gold, red/black or even white options?
-
as all clubs look to make amendments have we spoken to macclesfield to check their amendments this close season are not to put a white and
black navy blue flash on the shoulder? coz then maybe we could double up on the order with them...just iron on the respective sponsor and club emblem?
-
Isn't that just a short sleeved version of one of this seasons keepers kits?
Not a huge fan to be honest.
Bring this beauty back!

You must have been talking to some fifth columnists from Macclesfield then.
I cannot believe that we are talking about going down this ludicrous road yet again.
What on earth are you thinking...?!
-
Are we going to have this farce every year? If the club aren't going to listen to the fans opinions then why ask us? Next time just bring what you want in. How about the infamous Purple shirt?
-
Why do people think that this forum represents the views of all of Altrincham Football club fans?
There were 780 people from Alty at the game yesterday, this forum has about 40 people who post, maybe 20 who post regularly including some who have the most extreme views.
I'm sure there were people in the bar who liked the kit just as there were people who didn't.
-
Mixing Manufacturers is not a good idea in my eyes.
mixing anything in your eyes is bonkers.
-
I would definately not buy a blue or green shirt. I would buy 2 pink shirts though one for me and one for my lad.
-
“I didn't come here on a free transfer from Walsall to stand and watch a bunch of morons arguing about football
shorts shirts!"
-
In the same way that ManCity/ Utd and Liverpool/Everton don't wear each others colours,we shouldn't be considering anything that could be interpreted as being Macc or Northwich.
-
I think that I've unravelled Ian Senior's sartorial masterplan.
It's all a stunt for Sport Relief.....

-
Does it really matter that much if it's blue! It's just a shirt.
FFS.
-
I cannot see any worthwhile reason to change from yellow shirts as a second kit - I am sufficiently old-fashioned to wish to see us wear the red & white stripes as often as possible away from home, which is why I refer to a 'second kit'.
-
Personally I don't like this shirt and I wouldn't buy it. I understand there are limited colours, but I would ask if this is already a done deal? If it is I can't see huge numbers selling, why not provide 5 different options and do a bit of market research first. I'm sure if you spoke to 400 of the 800 in attendance at the next home match you would get a much broader opinion.
-
Yellow please :)
-

FFS.
Totally agree
-
Just out of interest. After the yellow away kit won the vote in the summer, how many have actaully bought one? I cant remember seeing too many on the terraces
-

No more than 20 sold.
-
At least 12 supporters I spoke to in the bar last night were happy with this option. And would buy 1 if available.
-
Is this an early April fools?
-
is that called macclesfield Blue ? God we'll be playing in green next, it should never happen.
blue and yellow stripes gets my vote
Didnt think it would be long before someone noticed it was blue! There is no such colour as Macclesfieldblue - its just blue
-
As a shirt it's pleasant enough I guess but for me it's just a Macc kit. I know we have played in some blue away kits before and I'm not someone who buys replica shirts but just not that one GK.
I don't knw why people are suggesting pink..whatever to that but surely Ian we can provide another kit that isn't blue or green. I don't think we necessarily need to change kit suppliers, just provide something that isn't macc blue or vics green. That can't be too difficult?
Put it this way I don't think Macc would like a red and white away kit.
-
I saw it in the bar at half-time. I went looking a beer and the half time scores on tv and found an interview with the Bolton manager with no sound and a blue macclesfield town shirt staring at me.
-

Oh dear me. Trust me if you goto B&Q you cannot buy Macc Blue or Vics Green - these colours do not exist. It is all in the mind of the individual. Pink would be a great idea if it were for a special occasion or event or charity like last seasons red + black stripes (which seemed to be the - lets try and win a cup game lads charity) - it didnt come off so no pink please. Why coz its Girly - oh wait no we have girls/ladies teams so you cant say that robins1978. As a ridiculous statement as Macc Blue and Vics Green ones. If we need to change the away shirt again - STICK WITH MAINLY YELLOW AND BLUE COZ YELLLLLOWS IS A GREAT AWAY CHANT! ps I Like this blue one too!
-
What about this? Same design but in black with yellow/white trim:
I reckon it would look smart with our badge and sponsor on it.
-
What is wrong with yellow? A massive no no to Macc blue!!
-
I dont think its that big a deal, its the away kit, city have a red away kit and i see and i see loads wearing that, blue is cheshire colours too???
The bottom line is if we go for yellow again the fans with yellow shirts already probebly wont buy a new one, away kits are good to change and freshen things up

Been told they can't have this plus also navy blue as it would clash with the referee.
I had this shirt badged for the stewards to try to bring some uniformity into the way there were dressed
got told it was to Cambridge looking
(http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n76/altywidow/2503034.jpg)
-
I think the main reason our away kit sales have suffered this season is because we also brought out two new home kits at the same time. I know we had to have new kits because of having a new sponsor, but the red & black kit was so popular that if people bought the red & white one too it would have been a big ask financially to also buy the yellow away kit. Ordinarily, we would have alternated the bringing out of new home/away kits and therefore it spreads the cost more evenly.
-
I like the shirt personally.
-

How annoying!

I think the new blue kit looks excellent.United have had numerous blue kits, and city have had numerous red kits.

TFFT someone talking sense on this thread - thanks Pete!

City have had red and black stripes and Utd royal blue but neither have had anything similar to the others home kit.

-
Red black red black
-
So what can we wear then? Not red or white (obviously), black and navy clash with the referee, green and blue are highly unpopular, purples been ruled out, brown is a no go and now we're having a backlash against pink. As mentioned, another yellow away kit wouldn't sell as much as those with one already wouldn't bother. Which leaves orange as the only colour left(so far)
-
Not sure why all the pictures of ex Man Utd away shirts have been posted but none are anything like a Man City home shirt if that's the point trying to be proved? I really liked the light blue away shirt we had but the one suggested in this thread is far too similar to a Macc home shirt.

It is actually short sleeved version of out gk shirt!!
-
I'd like sky blue.
-
Ok lets be honest about this.
Why are we changing our away kit this year? To make money for the club, as I can see no other reason.
We sold 20 away shirts making a profit of what for the club and SK Kits? A small amount.
Granted a small amount is better than nothing but what ever kit is chosen it isnt going to make Alty FC and SK Kits alot of money.
So go with the flow and stay yellow in some sort of fashion, however maybe go for a toned down yellow (yellow and black or gold and black maybe) rather than bright yellow and blue, as people dont tend to buy bright yellow clothing, even as football shirt, well unless you are a Norwich fan :-)
-
It is actually short sleeved version of out gk shirt!!
Oh yeah, didn't realise that! :)
-
(http://www.prideofmanchester.com/sport/photos/mufc6a.gif)
can we actually just have this as our away kit, complete with MUFC badges and Sharp sponsorship.
that is one tidy shirt.
-

Orange body with white sleeves, white shorts and white socks.
-
Maybe Ian can tell us what the viable alternatives are. Or is this a case of fait accompli?
-
The issue is the limited options I currently have as a "small brand" that can offer the service that suits the club, by that I mean, supplying single items on request at short notice which suits the club as they dont need to carry any stock of replica shirts. Generally, because I am at the club at least 3 times a week in my GK Coach role, items get ordered and are with the club within a few days. I simply cant afford to carry a range of shirts that dont match the major colourways that sell, those being red, royal blue, green, white and yellow. Other major sellers for me are black and navy, but the league wont allow these colours because of coflict with referees. So there lies my problem with making you, the specky's happy.
-
Thanks Ian, so what you're saying, correct me if I'm wrong, is if we have to change from yellow then our options are royal blue or green. In which case royal blue would be the lesser of two evils. Just.
-
Whats wrong with the yellow or white shirts?
This one looks good and will go with our sponsor logo, and the yellow chant wont be lost.

Would be great , but back is black!! Sorry. And we have used both white and yellow shirts recently. Still trying Conference with Navy shirt with red/white trim.

For the record Ian, I think the service you provide for the club is far more valuable thanjust the kit, in that I'm sure we make far more money from you being able to adapt and personally sort kit out than we would from just having a one size fitz hall supplier so to speak but it would be nice if we could avoid looking lke Macc. For example that, yellow/blackish kit is a lot like Southport but I have no qualms in looking a bit like them, just not Macc or Vics.
Also, when we had this same problem a while back and we ended up with the yellor with blue sleeves kit that seemed to sell a lot, didn't you offer up a purple shirt as a possibility?
p.s. You have mail
-
hated it. we should stick with the away kit we have got know
-
love the fact that we give our biz to someone like Ian and hope we remain that way.
However BLue like Macc no no no no
how about a wolves type colour (old Gold) or tangerine even sky blue which we have had before
Blue no green no anything else yes if we need to use green or blue cloth high end toilet paper/sanitary towels is the answer

Funnily enough, I was talking about Ian Senior with a bloke in work today who runs a junior team in Irvine. They wear Prostar kit and he got it from Ian. The bloke was very impressed by Ian's company.
