What seems a new development is when the pitch is fine but they postpone a match because the pavements etc are icy outside the ground. It's as if the authorities think the average football fan is too shtoopid to decide if he/she is able to decide whether he/she can cope with a wee bit of ice. I never remember this happening until the last few years.

The health and safety era we live in I think a lot of these games would've been on 25 years ago

It's the fault of Blair and his cronies, seriously, bloody nanny state. Its killed the pubs, people can't have a pint at lunch time now for fear of being sued, football games get called off because the pavement might be Icey, developments take longer, and production costs more due to excessive health and safety regulations, its complete over kill. All instigated to create unneeded jobs and positions.

without sounding like a broken record, this is why the fa need to move with the time and realize some fixtures are ridiculously place in the calander.

I might be being thick here, but why can`t I have a pint at lunchtime without fear of being sued?

Better a few games called off than no jobs and nobody having a pot to piss in riots etc in the milk snatching days

Always amuses me that the club feels the need to provide evidence that the game cannot be played. Alty TV had to show 60 seconds of flooded conditions a few weeks back and now a picture of snow is on the website.
It's almost as if they think we don't believe them when a match has to be called off!!

Are the club really 'providing evidence' that the game cannot be played or is someone just putting a photograph on the website because it is easy to do so and may be of interest to some when there is little else to report due to bad weather - take your pick

Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.
