Title: Next 6 matches
Post by: VofD on September 22, 2010, 01:18:47 PM
Well done to everyone last night. We must keep this" winning streak" going because 3 of the next 6 games are against the 3 other teams currently below the line. Could be quite a few points there.

Indeed, the next month is incredibly important.
One win on it's own won't keep us up, but as a confidence builder at a vital time, it really is just what was needed. We should also remember that the end of October is FA Cup 4th qualifying round, a few wins before then would be fantastic!!

Would love a cup run.

looking at the 2QR draw for the FA Cup I woulndn't mind being at home to Lincoln Moorlands railway or Ashingotn or Thackey.

In reality though its much more likely we will be away to Stalybridge or Ilkeston or Boston Utd or Worcester.

I always wondered if we were overwhelmed by our history in the cup and trophy - I could imagine GH saying something about the squad needing to prove they were worthy to live up to the traditions of the legends of the past.  Personally i'd be happy for a scrappy 1-0 over a Barnet, Hereford or Morecambe.

Brian,

Jock is just excited about the prospect of enjoying a Fray Bentos pie whilst his wife is away later this week.

"When you cut it it baby, please gimme a slice.
Gimme a piece of your Fray Bentos pie...."

Apologies to Led Zeppelin.

Just getting a few points ticking over would be satisfactory. Keeps us well in touch then.

The potential draw for the FA Cup is actually quite difficult this year. We've might get Mansfield, Darlo, Wrexham, Southport, Gateshead, Grimsby or York. Then you've got the trick-ish teams from the BSBN: Telford; Ilkeston; Alfreton; Droylsden; Stalybridge.

Personally I wouldn't mind a local derby (of sorts) against one of the weaker teams - FCUM, Hyde, someone like that.
