Stockport and Torquay could be tricky but we have our name on the trophy.

We beat Dagenham. Dagenham beat Torquay. I wouldn't rule anything out this season. So that will be Truro away then.

Do we know if the draw on Monday is on radio or tv?

Tier one. We can test out JJs theory.
-
Southport Away will do.

Hey, Cornwall's not in tier 2 or 3 is it? Perhaps there will be supporters at the game if so? (And perhaps a decent turnout, as this would be quite a big game for Truro).

Tier one. I think up to 4000 or 50% capacity.
-
Cup was always a chance to visit new grounds so a shame that we can't go.
Would like to avoid Notts County, Solihull, Torquay, Stockport from our level and Boston in the league below.
Be nice given we can't rest players, to give this a real go whilst other clubs aren't arsed.

If I spend enough time watching videos of Jethro, I might be able to get the accent to a workable level.
After me : "What happened waaas......"

Today's trivia fact: Cornwall remains one of the few English counties in which Alty have yet to play a competitive fixture.

Could have sworn we'd played lowestoft.

They were in the NL North in 2014/15 and 2015/16 so we just missed them.

I almost tied the tangent back to the main thread there!
-
is havant in tier4?

Yes all of Hampshire except for Havant and Gosport Boroughs are in Tier 2; those two boroughs in Tier 4
-
I assume we've never played them before...?

A decent draw. Hopefully progression into the next round.

That's nowt. We play international games at Moss Lane too!
Nearly 70 years ago it was the Nigerian Bare Footed Touring Team.
This year it will be Wrexham! 😉
-
Decent surface. No crowd. What's not to like?
Biggest issue as far as I can see is whether football will still be happening by then. The way the numbers are ramping up there's bound to be more players catching it soon.
-

That's correct.
We Havant played them before.

Perfect for our slick passing carpet football!

Would've been a marvellous away day for this SW London based fan, some belting pubs in Havant and Emsworth. Oh well.
-
You’d assume they will be thereabouts in the Conference South this year, plenty of names & experience from the Southern Conference teams & L2 outfits. Outside of our league playing these lot away just about one of the toughest we could have got. Still I’d expect us to go there and win, assume another overnight stay will help in that regard.

This would have been a great game for me in the nineties (or in the eighties when I lived on the south coast myself), as my uncle lived in Havant, and I used to stay over when we played Farnborough Town. In fact, his house was adjacent to their former ground at Front Lawn - they might have been Havant Town then, prior to their merger with Waterlooville - and I have seen a Sunday league game there, after they had moved out, when I stayed for a weekend and my uncle and auntie probably wanted me out of the house. Sadly, they had both died by 2001.
I have never been inside the current ground, which they have been able to develop as it's further away from any houses, although I have seen it from outside. However we have had a meeting, sort of, with Havant and Waterlooville before, as some of us took part in a quiz competition organised by Tony Williams of Team Talk magazine and the Non-League Directory in which we were drawn against them in 2004. Unfortunately, they beat us as I couldn't remember Nuneaton Borough's colours, and a ringer in our team thought that Moss Lane was the home ground of Macclesfield Town! :(
We obviously can't attend as Havant's in tier 4 (somebody had told me Waterlooville is in tier 2, which would be funny, but, apparently is incorrect), but this must be one of the ties of the round with both clubs in good form. Boston United v Chesterfield looks interesting too, although I have to wonder how seriously Chesterfield will take it.
-
Lets hope we don't meet our Waterloo. Wo Wo Wo SBL
-
i would have come up from Devon for this game
-
Could we suggest it’s played at home?
-
That’s not how it works. All our fa cup/ trophy games are played away, even on the rare occasions we are actually drawn at home!

Yep. Waterlooville is within Havant Borough which is in Tier 4. Just up the road from me. Would have been a great draw for me at any other time.

Yes, it would have been great for me too in the last century!
I notice Havant and Waterlooville's match tonight at Welling and their next two have been postponed because of covid. Better now than next month from our point of view,

Are replays for covid allowed? they were only introduced in the FA Cup proper rounds.

Haven't some clubs already scratched from cup competitions because they couldn't fulfil the fixture due to covid requirements?
-
Yes - for example Notts County scratched from the FA Cup
-
This week in the Trophy, Yeovil Town,as reported on the Alty Files website, have withdrawn, and so have Truro City, even though they were in Tier One at the time, following Covid tests (but before results in the former case).
Frome Town have been expelled following their refusal as a non-elite club to travel to Maidstone United in Tier Four. They say, correctly, that non-elite clubs in Tier Four are not allowed to play, but the FA said they should behave as an elite club. That's going to be a bit of a problem in the Trophy which is still made up of a mix of elite and non-elite clubs.

kicking clubs out for covid is not fair at all

I suppose cup competitions have a problem the leagues don’t. If a league fixture is called off it can be rearranged for months later. If a cup game is postponed there’s a much shorter time to rearrange it, i.e. before the next round is due to be played. Complications set in where club A delays the cup competition and just as they have isolated for the required time club B falls foul of covid and need to start isolation. Then club C etc.etc.
I do feel sympathy for clubs who have to scratch from cups. I’d be mortified in Alty had to forego a chance of glory in this years trophy because of covid and not because they lost fair and square.
-
Yeovil have had their results now, and they were negative, so they can play league games again now. However, they remain removed from the Trophy.

Could one find such a very small head in such an enormous arse ?
