A bit of light relief!
« on: September 14, 2008, 10:49:30 PM »

I see someone mentioned  Shrewsbury's 7-0 victory over Gillingham- well, I've just copied and pasted this- which was posted on Shrews unofficial forum- and was originially posted by a Gillingham supporter- black humour about his teams result- and a suggestion about the next match:

Next week's projected line up:

Traffic Cone
Beach towel - Ming Vase - Crisp Packet - Old Boot
Wheelie Bin - Broken Xbox360 (3 red lights) - Car battery
Wooden Bucket
Pitbull Terrier called "Ruffles" - Zimmer Frame

We can go 4:3:1:2, with Wooden bucket playing in the hole.

It can't be much worse than today, right?

I think Alty's situation is a little less drastic than that?? The pit bull terrier called Ruffles might be useful though???

I wouldn't play Ming Vase at centre back - much too fragile.

Old Boot at left back!

Can we sign him/it?

traffic cone did well to divert the ball
beach towel could'nt stem the tide
ming vase easily broke up the play
crisp packet red carded for assault
old boot got worn out to soon
wheelie bin played rubbish
xbox wasn't in the game
car battery played in a flat back four and was too negative
wooden bucket couldn't handle the pressure
ruffles put some bite in the midfield
zimmer frame propped up the attack :)

very good

crisp packet has always crumpled easily under pressure and ruffles looks like he has been continually banging his head against a brick wall, whilst the xbox had  apause buton that held play up nicely

The Wheelie bin contained everything but ran out of legs.

I'd have stuck the beach towel in as sweeper to mop things up.

As for the traffic cone, I'd drop it and play Dave Furnival.

Beach towel didnt stand up to the winger. Every time he ran at him he folded.

i would play the cone a better turn of speed than furnival and does well at marking in a defensive line but the towel looked terryfied
