Altrincham FC First Team / Re: CEO has gone already. Q&A postponed.

It's not just the money you bring in as a CEO. They are there day to day and improve processes internally that can also affect bottom line.

Sam does just fine on the commercial side so for a club like ours we're looking for someone who streamlines the rest and picks up the slack having 2 long distance Chairmen causes.

Negotiating better stewarding deals, improving revenue streams such as retail etc.

The team is succeeding because the management of the playing side is top class. The matchday experience etc. Improves when we have top class people in place there as well.

My tip for the board is we get an operations person in not a sales person and let Sam do that side, if it's working. Unless we've decided that Levi is that man.

Maybe didn't fancy the Q & A and being quized about what he does.🤥

I am puzzled by what a CEO is, and  does.
Would you prefer the term "Managing Director" They are in essence the same role?

Top dog in the building reporting to the board that owns the company. Buck should stop with them in terms of business decisions that adhere to the running operations.

I had a weird feeling about him early on, but he appeared to be doing and saying the right things.

Maybe there is more going on than we know now we have a middle management 😂

I see their FA Cup game has been postponed due to an FA investigation.
It seems they signed their goalie on an 'emergency loan' from The Gas in September and he's been playing ever since.
If there has been a breach of the rules, the EFL may sanction them too mightn't they?
How karma would it be if they were deducted all points gained from games he played in (as in the James Robinson episode) and were left miles adrift heading for almost certain relegation to the NL?

PS. Hope this doesn't seem too spiteful?

PPS. Knowing them, I'm sure they'll get away with it.
Shame that snake Peake doesn't have anything to do with them anymore to feel their suffering.

No idea why people want Cooper out of the team
If I was being picky (and I'm not, both are decent options) Cooper was in a poor placement for one of the Rochdale goals. But everyone was off that day.

We made a bank rolled team look very ordinary. Some fantastic attacking play with Dackers making an excellent debut. Finishing was much more clinical.

Disappointed no clean sheet.

A brilliant win and to put 6 past a team in the top 6 was tremendous. That said, we're probably a bankrolled team these days too...

We are bad tonight.

I wrote a long breakdown of why, then I realised it was good for me to do and not for you to read.

One thing though, Newby is not a left winger.

The game isn't even over yet.

Watched the stream for the first half, I'll only comment on what I saw:

Oh thank God. They might end up in a stadium where you aren't 32m from the pitch and at 1000ft elevation.

In all seriousness, The cost to run the place over the next 10 years is the cost of a nice 7.5k stadium. They could knock it down and in the footprint fit a football stadium and a housing estate.

I'd be begging for it if I was a Gateshead fan.

I am sorry to stir up a hornet's nest.  "Amsterdam." Your piece came across as a very fair statement in the circumstances.

I am speechless. That does not happen to me very often. I remember being told that Altrincham had lost the 1979/80 vote by one vote but nothing else. I was surprised to find out the events that led up to the result. Scanderless

My father never mentioned that Altrincham failed again in the 1980/81 season. Maybe he was speechless. For it to happen once is one thing, then again the following year. At the time, I think there was more than one rotten apple in the mix.

Thank you, Amsterdam, for your time. I will reread it later. It beggars belief. I am shocked and staggered as if it happened yesterday. Thanks also to Saughall for thinking about replying. Do not forget "S"; we must look after our blood pressure at our age. Lol
Thanks, I didn't write this piece, this was the option over my expletive-filled rant about world injustice.

Dare I ask? What did Rochdale do 43 years ago? I have been an Altrincham fan since 1955 when I was eight. Life has interrupted my involvement with Alty on more than one occasion. So this must have happened during one of my out stages. My father was very good at keeping me updated on what was happening as I travelled the world.
But I do not remember this one.

This should fill you in a little bit.

Thanks for the link Amsterdam. I was wondering how to phrase it all without sounding bitter and nasty. 👍
Same, I wrote it, I hated how angry I sounded... I googled and checked for an article that was close to correct then sent :)

A small point in the scheme of things. What's happened to Alty TV? It seems that it is no longer in HD. In fact, definitely LD.
I'll take frame rate over definition any day.
Thanks for the feedback on this. We've recently switched to the TNT owned camera as main cam as my trusty old JVC (Alty TV cam) can no longer send out a stable output to the NLTV stream (a very loose HDMI out). You might notice a much better quality picture when the edit switches back to camera 2 (using the JVC) on the Southend video. I'll try to make a few more tweaks to the TNT camera and if this doesn't work we'll revert to a dedicated single camera edit using the Alty TV camera only for highlights and leave the NLTV feed on the TNT camera.

Once the ref showed himself to be even in his allowing of rougher play I thought the game stepped up a notch to become one of the most exciting games I've seen in a while.

It really is good to have a ref that we can say good things about, I hope the Southend fans think the same.

I loved to see our bench yesterday. Regan looks like he's got a couple of injury pounds to drop but nothing another week or so of training won't fix. I can see Sitole getting a start in the next game based on the comments from Phil in his post-match interview.

10 in a row with two very middling-form teams to come before we get a real test of our Playoff potential with Solihull & Chesterfield back to back.
