People know my reasons for my dislike of International football but that certainly doesn't make me unpatriotic in anyway at all (and yes it annoys me when people say that, i hope these same people make time to watch and support EVERY sport England are in ?

I bought the big ST GEORGES  hating macc flag, i have taken every St Georges Day off work to celebrate the day since i was 17 , I have watched several England cricket matches, and 'used' to watch England football matches when they were at Old Trafford.

Just that I won't be getting 'umbro'd' up for the WC finals. I will prob watch some matches but I won't be making any special time to watch any game or particular team.

As far as i am concerned that world cups are like the champions league... prob be some good games but of no interest to me at all.

That was very diplomatic for you Gaz.   ;)

Nice one - this should be a national bank holiday rather than May Day, which is a remnant of good old socialism/communism.

as every other day is dedicated to the faded glory of free market capitalism one day per year is not a lot.

"I get a similar feeling in the fa cup as in the world cup because of the giant killing potential, if u look at new Zealand they are capable of causing paraguay and Slovakia problems and if there fitness and determination is anything like the aussies then who knows,

This tornament started three years ago!! That has to be respected"

:o Of all the teams in the WC that will not cause a shock is NZ they have one team in the Australian  league and their domestic comp is at best NWCL standard....if they get a draw in the WC finals that will be a  miracle.

Australia are basically the same team as last time less Viduka , they havent really developed that much will be difficult to score against but will struggle to score against anyone decent.

Well nz didn't do to bad in Spain 82 did they? I suspect a few teams that have reached the world cup don't have a decent domestic structure but have players playing in decent ones abroad.

'NZ didn't do too bad in Spain 82.' Didn't they lose all 3 games including a 2-5 defeat by Scotland?
