Potential to influence the rest of the season going forward.........decent gate and some prize money and another tie to look forward to or dumped out and a mid table finish for us

Always fun when Ross Joyce is about..........Alfreton two up at half time at Mansfield, then had two sent off before Mansfiield hit back with two late goals, followed by an injury time winner

Altrincham FC First Team / Still waiting........
« on: October 01, 2011, 08:29:39 PM »
To see anything positive from an FA Cup game involving Alty.......saw us struggle to beat a poor Kendal side several years ago, but missed the win over Newcastle Blue Star......words fail me.

We have managed to exit the competition this season four weeks earlier than usual and once again made no money in the process. Do the players not realise how much hard work is done by the club and a select band of volunteers just to raise £500 for club funds.......it's £4.5k down the drain and the opportunity for even more money just thrown away.
I will be even angrier when Witton get the Dog and Duck at home in the next round

Altrincham FC First Team / Kevin Holsgrove leaves Boston
« on: September 22, 2011, 12:35:39 AM »
Our webmeister advises that KH has left Boston United, citing the long travelling distances as a major factor.........did he not look on a map and find out where Boston is and how damned hard it is to drive there from the North West ?............unless of course he thought he had signed for Buxton

Altrincham FC First Team / Hyde lost at home tonight..........
« on: September 21, 2011, 12:52:27 AM »
In the Cheshire Senior Cup

FCUM won away in the FA Cup at Woodley (played at Glossop) in front of 300 something fans........what's going on ?

Altrincham FC First Team / Mansfield plan to increase attendances

Altrincham FC First Team / FCUM not taking any fans to Chorley
« on: September 08, 2011, 12:35:02 PM »
Don't know the reasons or what involvement the police have had in this matter, but the KO time has been moved to 11.30 am and FCUM have been allocated 520 tickets for this all ticket game.............as a result FCUM have declined to accept any tickets.

Therefore what should be a moneyspinner for Chorley is no longer as attractive

Altrincham FC First Team / 172..............

The number of people who bothered to watch Heyes vs Bath tonight in BSP !!!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Must speak with Stockports new owner today
« on: August 06, 2011, 11:56:15 AM »
........to see if he can give us some tips.

Afterall; according to him he has already saved them £200k, identified further savings, bid £75k for new players, got a new training ground sorted and finalised plans for a new stadium..........wow - all this in just a month. His own businesses must be immense

Altrincham FC First Team / Toilet rolls and player transfers
« on: July 27, 2011, 09:34:58 PM »
The new owner of Stockport (businessman - Tony Evans) makes an interesting statement concerning the purchase of toilet rolls and new strikers.

Apparantly he scrutinises the 'deal' like his life depends on it  :-[. Maybe that is why he is a rich man, I just get my bog-roll from Aldi, don't really give it much thought.

Hucknall Town have reverted to completely amatuer status in order to pay off their debts - no wages for any playing or coaching staff etc.

It not long ago that they won the Unibond and qualified for promotion to the Conference (the season before we got promoted). They now play in the Evo-stick south

Altrincham FC First Team / R&D
« on: July 07, 2011, 06:37:18 PM »
Looks like another club going belly up because they failed to see the writing on the wall several years ago

Denied entry into the Southern League.....in Admin.......with vultures about to move into their home (gone a bit quiet on that one mind you)......what next for them ?
