Can't blame Sinnott any more than anyone else.
Think when teams press and close us down quickly we panic and hence the hoof ball.
Well, exactly and this is where the Boshell argument comes in. When you have a good ball playing midfielder in front of the back four he takes the pressure off them. Just knitting play from side to side is quite important in creating space in our own half for players to make measured decisions and to get the ball out to our wingers when we are ready.
Yesterday we were our own worst enemies and played right into Telfords hands
More often than not we had no wingers yesterday. Both Richman & Lawrie came in off the flanks far too often leaving the defence with 2 options of where to pass the ball.
1)Into a very crowded midfield area where there is no space because all 4 alty midfielders are within 15/20 feet of each other enabling Telford to very easily
& quickly close us down. This in turn means the full backs have to try to get forward and provide some width which leaves us wide open at the back to a quick counter attack
when we loose the ball.
2)Hoof it long and hope for the best as we dont play with a target man.
I cant say if packing the central midfield area was pre planned or not but if it wasnt the Sinnott should have sorted it out. He did look a very forlorn man in the second half.
