We have another young'un for the subs bench.... "Altrincham FC Youth team defender James Smart."

It makes me feel old that I've been watching Alty since before he was born!   :o

All I ask for tomorrow is a team that will put 100% in and at least had a go at it. Last 2 visits to Oxford have been terrible 4-0 defeats, and to keep it below that will be nice. Although hopefully we can have a really dogged performance and somehow come away with something. And how good would that be for confidence after the last 7 days!!

Yes,was 1-0. Just remember them having lots of possession, and it could had been 4-0. O'Neill had a decent chance in injury time but dragged the shot wide.

Looking at Mr Laidlars report from last season, seems history repeating itself!!

BACKGROUND

This was Altrincham's first match for almost three weeks. Oxford were recovering from a five-point deduction which had dropped them four points behind Altrincham, who went into the match, therefore, in eleventh place.

TEAM NEWS

Chris Denham was back in the squad for the first time since injuring his eye in a workplace accident, whilst Robbie Lawton was also back from his injury layoff. With Lee Elam choosing to play for Northwich, Andy Ralph gaining match practice at Trafford and Kevin Street injured, all 16 of Alty's remaining squad were involved today.

Damage limitation exercise, I fear.

As I can't go, expect a famous 1-1 draw with a Coburn super show and great all round team showing.

Come on Alty...

A gritty goalless draw with guts and commitment will suit me every bit as much as the players and management.
