Is that our biggest ever win in the league, beating 9-2 v Merthyr?
-
May well be crucial later for goal difference .
;D ;D
-
I leave that question for the boffins......superb effort though after the disappointment on thursday....congratulations to lee and the players....and a clean sheet!!!!!!
we are good enough to get into the play offs and teams will soon start to be too terrified to attack us.
-
Biggest win whilst I have been supporting them and that's 35 years - I remember us beating Worksop 7 - 1 when I was a lad but nothing like what we saw today.
-
That is an outstanding scoreline from a team beaten in a high profile televised game just two nights ago. I don't care who we played against or whether they were cannon fodder, just full respect to the team today. Reevesey, get your scoring boots back on. I understand it could easily have been 12 today. My life is a bit tricky at the moment to say the least but you have made my bloody day you diamonds. Come on you red and whites!
Calming slightly, in my formative years despite being very good we rarely exceeded 6 goals, as if we somehow declared. My 7-1 v Barnet one night exorcised that but I didn't see the 9 v Merthryr and I believe 8 is my highest known score apart from that in my supporting life going back to 1971.
-
missed the Merthyr game and this one but that's the way the biscuit breaks.
Fantastic result today Alty. Very VERY proud Alty fan tonight.
-
Well done to the team today was a bit worried about playing so soon after burton and yes they were that bad I felt sorry for them but to score 8 is incredible !
-
To be honest our performance was below par.
-
Superb professional job.
They worked very hard despite being young and inexperienced but our tired legs never showed.
Don't think too many would have argued if he had just booked their keeper and left him on. Got to question there managers decision to put the shortest player in nets! Referee was awful, how he didnt give a corner on the first half is beyond me.
Can't wait for the highlights now!
-
Very poor team, but we for once we didn't ease off , just the team to play after the burton game , now for Halifax that will be a real test .
-
I was worried we might slip up today after playing on Thursday night, so to win 8-0, regardless of the opposition, is a fantastic effort.
Let's hope we go on a long unbeaten run and get ourselves right in contention now! :)
-
Very entertaining afternoon. No signs of a hangover from less than 48 hours before and we played some superb stuff at times.
Hinckley were comical at times but we're now back on track in the league with a RAMPANT performance.
-
Probably should have been more than 3-0 up at the break
Dire ref... nearly as dire as Hinckleys defence
Great to see a clean sheet
Oh and Moult same again please on saturday....
-
Great performance in the end, could have easily been more than 10.
Moult's goal was brilliant, happy that Brooke finally scored although it was a penalty against a defenfer with a shirt at least three sizes too big, Reeves seemed to lack any confidence in front of goal today though. Hoping he'll bag one at Halifax next week.
-
The pen was well taken , don't think keeper should of been sent off , ref a bloody joke
-
supporting Altrincham is like being on an emotional rollercoaster.
very happy today.
-
Thanks Alty
Just the tonic I needed, and a great riposte to the Burton game.
Congratulations to Ryan Brooke for his first goal, perhaps he will now have a little more confidence in himself, and become the player I actually reckon he can be. No goal has given me greater delight than this one, especially with all the criticism he gets. Onwards and upwards for the team, which is more than capable of a playoff place. Lee Sinnott also said that the goals should not just come from Damien Reeves. Well today the whole team proved themselves for me. What about Duncan. coming on for the last 10 minutes and scoring two!!
Thanks once again to Radio Robins, and sorry I had to miss the game, but I am having a sh**ty time at present with my illness.

Mark Chapman and Doc Savage gave us a mention on 606 too!

I'd certainly trust Brooke to take one again - low and in the corner, very decent pen. The keeper had to go because he was the last man. Which doesn't explain how the keeper stayed on at Corby, and arguably at Burton.
The ref was poor, but the assistant on the popular side should have had a white stick instead of a flag. As much use as a Northwich Vics season ticket.

Great result by a team gaining in confidence. Alty play some bloody good stuff and it is nice to watch - keep it going lads - onwards and upwards.. Personallly I thought it was great that the goals were shared around - Shows that were not solely reliant on Reevsey.. Keep going Damo the goals will start to flow again soon - Next Sat at The Shay would be nice mate ;)
-
Had to go to a party with Tegan today so was not there :( what an amazing result !
Well done lads feels great following Alty at the moment
Lee you are starting to finally put that smile on my face !!

The 'last man' rule is.a popular myth, but is also regularly referred to by supposed expert pundits. Our man was heading towards the corner flag and there was no clear goal scoring opportunity so a yellow was more appropriate. Felt sorry for the keeper, bit exposed by his defence but could probably have kept the score down on a good day.
Superb team performance today, and the score could quite easily have been in double figures. Damian will undoubtedly rediscover his scoring touch, and he came very close to notching a few today. Good to see the goals being spread around though, and good for the goal difference in case Histon go under and we lose those goals.

Always apprehensive when I get home from work to get the result - didn't expect this!!!!
Can't believe 8 goals and none from Reevesy - but this is good for the team.

The issue being he scores when he wants, today he didnt want to ;D

I find it funny that our first goal was in the 8th minute, Jake Moult (number 8 ) scored a brilliant overhead kick and we won 8-0! 8 must be our lucky number ;D

i was texting my mate and putting scorers and stuff but ended up just text him, 6,7,8. I know they were rubbish but with our lads being tired I was a bit worried but we did a top job

I 8 coincidences!

I hope the Hinckley sub goalie had done all his homework 😉

As far as I can ascertain, these are the last three fixtures in which the Robins' final score has been eight goals:
13th November 2001: Woodley Sports...1 Altrincham...8 (Cheshire Senior Cup);
25th January 1969: Altrincham...8 Northwich Victoria...1 (Northern Premier League);
7th May 1966: Chester Reserves...1 Altrincham...8 (Cheshire County League).
Damian Reeves failed to score in any of those matches, too.
-
Can remember an 8-1 against Northwhich Vics in 1969
-
I remember the 8-1 v Woolley the well missed skipper going on pitch when Antony Hargreaves hit the 8th

Whilst not being born yet was a reasonable excuse on two occasions, there is no excuse for the Woodley debacle, when he was nearly Watmore's age. Reeves out !

The Vics game was, of course Don Weston's debut, and his finest 15 minutes. In fact, effectively his ONLY 15 minutes ;D
-
i think my grans next door neighbour took me to that vics game ,
i probably spent all game standing in the golf road chanting slob slob
i remember maybe a year later when we beat runcorn 5_1
