Captain

I normally watch the game from the terraces but today watched it from the main stand. What was obvious that with Robbie Lawton being injured and Stu having the armband there was nobody barking orders on the pitch. Nothing against Stu but I believe you need the captain to be an outfield player to encourage the other players.

We miss Robbie Lawton (and Chris Denham) desperately. For their heart, desire and strength of character if nothing else. Doughty too.

I'm all for James Smith or Anthony Danylyk taking the armband with Robbie Lawton limited to games

Agree, Stu marshalls his defence well, but apart from that, he didn't say much at all today.

For me it should be Crowell

I agree for the same reasons as first post on this topic. Goalies should NEVER be the captain - end of.

Not a fan of Lawton as a player, but we've missed his instructions and gob since the great Darlington give away. He has to start and  get the team into position, and encourage and cajole the players into playing as a team and not 11 misfits.

After today I agree that we play four at the back.

I liked the look of McCarthy, but not much else

He certainly shouted loudly enough when the first two goals went in. Somebody on another thread thought he wasn't to blame for the first goal. Sorry, but three seasons ago he would have tipped that ball over. Today he didn't even move for it as it drifted across him ! Stu is a legend, but even legends have off days - and Stu unfortunately had one today. Hopefully he'll make up for it on Saturday. My choice for captain ? Densmore !

None of the current starters are good enough leaders to be captain, something in great evidence today. Last season I wanted Lawton dropped, but it looks like we need him
