Title: In's and Out's
Post by: Alty Dave on June 10, 2021, 11:23:25 AM
Has anyone got an inkling on when we might here a retained list and new players coming in? I know Brad has been announced and the 4 players leaving.

Are management team on "holiday" at present?

I'm hoping we're after players who are still in the play offs.
I'm sure we'll hear something soon, possibly next week.
Who would we want from, say, Stockport if that's the case? (not Bell, clearly).

Have heard that Simon Richman has / will be leaving.

Given all his service I hope we can express our appreciation and that he's not allowed to just sidle out of the door

I think if he does go it's probably to get more game time somewhere. I think he's a valuable squad member for us and has never let us down. I'd be very sorry to see him leave.

I agree. Form the outside, and without any knowledge as to why he was marginalised last season (apart from what I thought was a minor injury) and given his service and past record, I think he has been treated abominably. Obviously there could be some mitigating circumstances so I think PP could do himself a favour if he were to let us know what they are.

Simon has been a great player and very loyal but i dont agree he has been treated badly, its appropriate that with the correct conversations etc this can happen, not sure why we need each player that exits to have a big fuss with the fans.

Every team needs at least one player who can play in multiple positions, and is prepared to sit on the bench for considerable periods before stepping up to fill the required role during the game. Don't forget, Lee Sinnott signed him as a winger. I can't remember the last time he played there, but his contributions both in midfield and at full back have been of great value to us.

If he is going, I bid him every good wish for the future. I could see him moving into coaching at the end of his playing career, and I hope we have the pleasure of seeing him again thereafter.

Simon is a and always has been a great player for Alty. In my opinion things work better when he is on the pitch. It baffles me that he has had so little playing time under Phil Parkinson's management.

I’d have played him ahead of Williams but not Smith or moult ( or senior in his alternative position) so I don’t think he has missed out much  game time, certainly in the first XI

I walked past the ground after about an hour of the Yeovil game (I hadn't expected to get back from London in time for the game, so didn't get a ticket).

Could hear there was plenty of action going on inside, and yet I walked past Ringo hanging around outside in his full trackies with his head immersed in his phone.

He won't be here next season. Shame.

Also liked Joe Roberts(?) the young lad we had from Crewe for Dover game

If that's correct, it's staggering to imagine the extent to which they're (Fylde) are being bankrolled.
Also, if that's his idea of what he's worth, the clubs who could afford him would be few and far between (and not include us either).
Good luck to him wherever he ends up because he's not getting any younger and before you know it your career's over. Get it while you can Jordan.

JH was on less than a £1000 a week, still a mouth watering sum but less than £1000 nonetheless. His move back to us was a done deal until we realised how big his ban was and how much money he owed to Fylde and the FA for fines and costs of representation. He subsequently was offered a new deal on even less money at Fylde as to fill the void for what he owed them meaning we weren’t prepared to wait for his ban to end and pay the fine money etc.

I dont know your source but there is a few odd things about that.  I would imagine players do not have to pay for representation and its unusual for players to pay clubs directly if fined.  I wait to be corrected though

I can't see us ever having been back in for him, either - don't think Parky would have gone for it.

Would rather believe the wages quoted by his mate, directly to his face, on his Instagram too - wouldn't you have thought? Unless they're taking the mickey about rumours (i.e. he's actually on much more/less than that) - but I can believe the figure. At the end of the day, it's roughly a £60k salary which sounds about right for a lot of full-time players in the lower leagues.

Wow, Jamie Stott would be interesting - he was brilliant whilst on loan at Stockport in the NLN, if I recall correctly they pretty much started their march towards the title when he came in on loan from Oldham, having started that season slowly like us. Not sure why it hasn't worked out for him the second time around, often the case after an initial successful loan spell.

I did notice Milan Butterfield on Chesterfield's released list, but I must admit Scott Boden was the one that caught my eye - I assume his season is still going as he's at Torquay at the moment.

The first team players section on the website seems to be being kept up to date with the recent coming and goings and I notice that Connor Kirby is still listed…wonder if he’s staying?

Just a quick point, Season tickets and shirts sales will be much improved if we can bring in another proven striker 😉

This.

I think it's updated with the comings, but I'm not sure about the goings.

There's, I think, 24 players listed on there. Surely three or four will need to move on to make room for the necessary incoming hoped-for signings.

Did I see somewhere that the squad numbers were being released this week?
Any news on this or am I just imagining it?

On Wednesday, the fixtures for our second season in The Vanarama  National League, since we were promoted via the play-offs with those three epic victories over Chester, York City & Boston United, will be published.

First team training starts in earnest on Saturday & squad numbers will be announced during the week, whilst pre-season fixtures are less than three weeks away, so it's a very exciting time for Alty fans & an appropriate juncture to start the two-way communication process for the new season that commences on Saturday August 21st.
