Abuse is a strong word Darren.

I've played for this team for 2 years now, and run the organisational side of it for a year now, and we've had no complaints from other referee's and only received two cards in the entirety. No other team has made complaints to the league about us, and given we only get fixtures based on our reputation for not being dicks would suggest we're a decent set of players.

I think posting on social media was poor from Ian. He could have had a chat with us when he collected his payment, or at the game.

There is a difference between "a fair bit of stick" and "abuse" though. A referee should not be trying to book someone for saying "can we just get on with it please" and then not booking that person because the opposing captain says "come on ref, he has a point to be fair".
