Another tough game, made even tougher given the circumstances.
Hoping Thompson, Hannigan, Hampson and Mooney are available.
Alty 2-2 BW.
ATTN 1000

I'd be over the moon with a draw but I can't see it being a high scoring one.
If defenders are back and don't have ring rust we've got a chance but Parky may save them for Tuesday.
I'd settle for a clean sheet.
-
I'll be very disappointed if we only attract 1000 bodies for this one. I'm going for a moral-building 3-1 win watched by 1650. They will struggle to bring enough to fill a 12-seater minibus. They will have more flags than fans in the Chequers end (If it is allowed to be open).
-
They actually brought a full sized coach. Having seen them this afternoon I understand why they don't get big gates. Dirty team, no flair whatsoever. A point was all they deserved.
-
A very big strong powerful / physical team as proved by their goal.
Fyfield is a monster.
We played the football and maybe deserved more. If you'd asked at 2.45 though I'd have taken a point
-
Good crowd Desmond tutu . Should have had a pen
-
A very good point in what could loosely be described as a 'football' match.
I've had a bad week, so it would have cheered me up to meet a Boringwood season ticket holder ;D
Kosy and Senior had a good go at them all afternoon - we at least tried to win.
Jake was fabulous and a deserving motm winner.
Can't wait to watch a game of football on Tuesday.
-
I thought a draw was fair. They took their chance. We had loads and took one.

it's still back to that point of if we had a 25 a year forward we would be top 3 . I thought we edged it . But was very close as you say

Absolutely but we are where we are. We certainly looked more than a match for a team that was top of the league. Perhaps we are impatient and need to go full time to get that striker. In the mean time our existing centre forwards are keeping their defenders busy which provides the opportunities for others.
-
Boringwood came for, and got the point they wanted.
Their back four are more akin to wrestlers than footballers.
The ref wanted to be the centre of attention and spoilt the game .
Overall a good point for us against the team that was in top spot at 3-00pm
They won’t be top after the last games of the season.
Let’s hope we see off Gateshead on Tuesday and then we can have a bloody good go at Charlton.
Onwards and Upwards.
-
I really enjoyed the game, it was a real contrast of styles and both had their periods of the game when they were effective. We really had them in trouble straight after the equaliser but unfortunately couldn’t find a way through.
The defence had to work incredibly hard and apart from the goal they coped magnificently. Not sure what the problem was with Hannigan just hoping he’s it for Tuesday.
-
I forgot to add that their no. 9 was absolutely sh*te, should have been hooked at half time.

He's ex Macclesfield - never rated him much when he was there.

interview with the boss up on you tube now.
-
We tore them apart after Josh's goal. Really exciting stuff it was. Also, I was sat in the Family Stand and the Golf Road looked and sounded fantastic - the best, i thought, for ages. More of this please.
-
The highlights are on U tube + also a good interview with their manager, SB

If you want more atmosphere, you're welcome to join in on the GRE rather than comment on whether the atmosphere is good or not on GRE
-
I thought that we improved when Dinanga and Porter were replaced by Peers and Whitehead respectively.
Sumptuous strike by Hancock.
Hope that Hannigan's withdrawal after 86 minutes was nothing serious.
-
All in all, a decent point and well deserved in the end.
I actually thought we were quite poor in parts, up until we realised we needed to play to our strengths and forget about trying to go toe to toe with their big lads. I thought Kosylo was great, and seems to have a good understanding playing inside with Josh and with Senior on the overlap, I enjoyed watching that from the Golf Road End.
Play like that again on Tuesday evening and we should hopefully have enough to see off Gateshead.
Brilliant gate again, and I echo the sentiments on the other thread about the club, I think they did a good job organising the restrictions under the circumstances and actually served to create a good atmosphere.

Hoping Hannigans subbing was to protect his back niggle.
I did notice Colclough was lay down receiving treatment after the final whistle

Thank you for your kind invitation to join in on the GRE. I am sure that you will kindly be on hand there to show me to my disabled seat.

Would it need to be high and mighty like your comment, or would you be okay on floor like the rest of us?
Bring a stool like the folk on the pop side or the old school Workington fans if you like the atmosphere, there's less steps to GRE than the main stand too.
There's disabled wheelchair users who also watched from the front of The GRE corner
Like I said, many fans work hard to build atmosphere, too many on here and Facebook want to comment about an atmosphere or lack off without getting involved

I've tried that.

Seems to me that Condates original comments were nothing but complimentary. I can't understand why you're having a go at him.
I can only say that we should be revelling in the direction the club is going in and being united in our support.
Sorry to be personal but you seem to have had an edge to some of your posts for a while now.
Rein it in a bit if you can. We're all on here because we're Alty fans aren't we?

Thank you Saughall for your intervention.
My original post was indeed supposed to be positive and complimentary to those who provided the fantastic support in the Golf Road on Saturday. I agree with Parky who remarked that they were so vociferous that they virtually sucked the ball into the net for the equalizer.

Yes totally uncalled for I thought.

Having been banished from our usual stance on the Golf Road end of the popular side, Nomdeplume and I watched the game from a more or less opposite position in front of the CSH. We actually had a better view than usual, and I had a shorter limp back to my car. Of course, it won't work when it's peeing down...
-
Having watched the highlights, surprised we didn't have a penalty in the first half as Moult was bundled over at the back post and looks as Ryan had a good shout for one in the second half, he was definitely pulled back.
Could watch Josh's goal all day. What a strike.

Quite how you've managed to take umbrage at what was basically said as a compliment is beyond me. You need to re-read it or to wind your neck in a bit.

Us Chequers enders probably outsang Boring Wood on Saturday.
Sorry, but no wrist band for me. Even if I can get a ticket.

the second was very very clear . A poor ref

Sorry to keep on about this, but I've been crunching the numbers (again). It turns out that, up to and including the Woking game (and the Southport game), Tom Peers had scored an average of about one goal for every 160 minutes (plus stoppage time) of game time played. At that rate, if he played whole games for an entire 46 game season, he would get... 25 goals! (Incidentally he also has the best goals per time played up to the Woking game).

I disagree. It was quite hard to hear them from the Chequers end for much of the second half, though to be fair, when they got going, they were properly loud at times. Admittedly it's difficult to get motivated against clubs like Boring Wood and Solihull Moors.

I remember the Nantwich friendly and Jimmy Laurie... (PS trust you to take it so serious)

Put simply, we really don't have a 25 or even 20-goal striker currently on our books. We have 4 or 5 who could perhaps reach 10.
