Absolutely stunned.
This is wonderful wonderful news!
-
Unbelievable! Fantastic news.
-
Astounding stuff, bad on the English football mentality, fantastic news for us
-
Trafford or Mossley to see their record attendance if he plays?
-
Kept his promise to us as well. Such a rarity in football that is.
Didn't chase the dollar, came where he knows he is settled.
I'm utterly stunned. The family think I've got nuts..running upstairs shouting "REEVES HAS SIGNED!"
-
Trafford or Mossley to see their record attendance if he plays?
Probably not, but I hope we can't move for League club scouts by Xmas !
-
Absolutely stunned and delighted by this!!
Welcome Home Reevesy!!!
-
Reading the main site it is nice to see that honesty and integrity still has a place in life. I note he has a clause which allows him to leave for a league club without a tranfer fee being paid, which is fair enough.
-
Trafford or Mossley to see their record attendance if he plays?
Nope, they'll be the usual 100 there as this is Alty. However that 100 will be beaming...and Damian knows what it means to us to get him back on board.
Its nuts....totally nuts.

You're nuts, I'M nuts, who bloody cares ! Can't wait for the season to start !
-
Gobsmacked and so utterly chuffed.
I'm sure he is going to get one hell of a humdinger of a welcome!
-
Big well done / thanks to whoever made this possible!
-
Bless your cotton socks Damian.
STUNNING NEWS.
-
Come on Reevesey, play in the league WITH ALTY in a couple of seasons time.
That'll be a story to tell the grandkids.
Made my day. ;D ;D ;D
-
Very few honest footballers left. Welcome home Reevesey and I hope you continue where you left off and get the scouts flocking in. Right I'm off for a celebratory beer!!
-
What's the rating above legend?
-
Great news allround. Well done to the board for keeping the door open & well done to for keeping to his word. Mcgobsh*te can stay awol for ever.
-
Thanks for the PM Ecky.
Amazing news and a lot of us can't justify PSF's but we will be there for the curtain raiser and there will be a very warm welcome for Damien from the London Alty
-
We'll piss this tinpot league......
(For anybody who is unsure, this is humourous !)
-
at the risk of being called boring i am slightly moved by this mundane peace of news
-
Thank F*** for that. ;D ;D
-
Incredible news, you bloody hero Reeves! I'd love to know what Gainsborough's publicity shy Chairman makes of all this.
-
GET IN, wonderful, marvellous, terrific, superb, VUNDERBAR... Come on alty
-
Absolutely made up what a legend !
-
Lovely Jubbly :)
-
im not usual optomistic regaurding alty but GEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTT IN THE THERE messer's rowely and sinnot
-
I think the club should be looking forward and not backwards, signing previous Alty players shows no ambition. Reeves out.
Whilst we are at it why dont we bring back Young and Senior.

Last I heard he was at Darlington and just wondered if we could get him back.
-
Fantastic news. Can't believe that he wasn't picked up by a league club but so glad he wasn't.
Brilliant!!
-
Wrexham fans are a bit puzzzled by it on their forum lol
-
It'll make another work of week much more bearable.
Damian - many many thanks. You know we'll look after you...
GET IN!
-
Cheers for the heads up Mark, fantastic if bizarre news, Reevesy played 60 mins for Gillingham yesterday, perhaps that was the reason, either the travelling/relocation or maybe it didn't work on the day, come home lad, you know it makes sense.

No problem, all is explained on official site...
-
Well done the manager and the board. Reeves has kept his word and its a tribute to him and how this club is run. Incidentally I thought that the piece about this on the official website was superbly done.
-
Is he any good this reeves fellow ;)
-
Just logged on from ibiza airport to say this is bloody amazing i actually believe we can do this now
Reeeeeeeevvvvvvvveeeeeeessssssssss
-
How refreshing in this age of money grabbing consortiums and dodgy
wbankers, clueless politicians and talentless T**ts posing as celebrities that there are people around who think more of there personal and family happiness than chasing the big bucks..
Welcome back Reevsey, you wont regret it, you have just made everybody at one club in the BSN very happy.
Mr Sinnott said he would put a smile on all of our faces, Well thats mission accomplished...
-
I never thought this would happen. Can't express my feelings in words, I'll have to try when I see my Chester and Wrexham supporting workmates tomorrow, though.
Welcome home Damian!!!
-
Reeves + a defence + Alty stalwarts (Clee, Densmore, Coburn) + Youth + Talent (Lawrie) = Optimism for a change.
My birthday on Thursday, what a great birthday present!
-
I refuse to believe it until it has been confirmed on the official gainsboro chairman's twitter account!
welcome back to the flock our wandering sheep....45 goals this season a must...no pressure ;D
seriously damian we were all rooting for you to get a FL gig...there will be some sh*te strikers netting a handful of goals in 40 appearances for a few clubs who should be absolutly kicking themselves!
-
Twitter absolutely exploded with the news, as did my living room.
I can't put into words how excited I am by this news. I'm absolutely beaming and nobody at work quite understands just what for. Its just a shame I won't get to see him in action again until the wrexham game.
Fantastic work by all involved, and what a superbly crafted article on the main website. Fantastic stuff. ;D
-
Welcome home Damian, this is absolutely amazing news!!!! :) :) :)
-
Best news ever!
My appologies to Niall for spending five minutes on the phone to him while sat by a lake in south Germany calling him a liar.
-
Excellent news. Credit to the chairman and manager - due reward for playing it straight.
-
Great news! Can't stop smiling. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
A tremendous amount of effort from the chairman and manager must have gone into making this happen. Thank you and well done.
-

Absolutely, enormous credit is due to Grahame and Lee for their excellent efforts and also for not putting too much pressure on Damian at the same time. Also credit to Damian for keeping his word, that sort of thing says a lot about a person.
-
Great news Wel-come back Damian.and thanks for keeping your word.
-
Best news possible. Welcome Home Reevesy!
-
Welcome back Damian, great to see you kept your word. Our whole house was ecstatic with the news. Well done to the club as well for playing it straight.
Come on Alty
-
Brilliant news - as is customary I thought it was a wind up - you sort of get used to it reading this forum!
Out of interest - where did he sign - looks a bit "Little Chef" like !

So much honesty, integrity and decency by all parties involved.
-
Absolutely buzzing, and will for a while yet. Welcome back Reevsey. Now go and make yourself a true legend by firing more goals which (with a better defence) will lead us to promotion
What great timing too, as a few of us thought during the game yesterday we were going to struggle for goals. Now the prospect of Reeves and Watmore being fed by Lawrie and Clee looks good!!
-
Could not be happier. The fact he turned down moneybags Gainsborough makes it even sweeter.
We'll be mounting a title challenge, make no mistake. 16/1 is well worth a punt.
-
Well, at least he should be a useful impact player to bring on from the subs bench for the last 15-20 minutes of those matches when Watmore is exhibiting signs of tiring.
Hats off to the Alty Board and manager for their diligence and Damian Reeves for his integrity.
The Gainsborough Trinity fans forum must be in utter meltdown by now.
Great to have him back at Moss Lane for the impending campaign.
Now, if we could just tempt Twiss out of retirement to play alongside Reeves, the promotion jigsaw would be almost complete.....
-
Just logged in from the USA, fantastic News. Welcome home Damian, I'll get that DVD ready for you now!
-
Best Alty news in modern times
-
Totally ecstatic at the news ;D ;D ;D ;D He's a top guy and really I don't know why we are so surprised as we did know how genuine he is. If he plays as well again this season, then we must accept that he may get a FL gig one day, maybe in January? who knows.
Does this mean Mr McGivern,... who appears to have gone AWOL,... may not return?
-
well blow me down with a feather ;D fantastic news, now lets start to get on the right track back upto the National and from there who knows?
-
Yes fantastic news. Imagine it another way, that someone who had scored 44 league goals for another BSN team had signed for us, we'd never sign them.
So well done to all concerned, particularly Damien Reeves for actually making a great decision and being the first footaller in history almost to do so.
He's especially good in that his goals come about whether we are playing well or not.
-
Gainsbourgh fans have a 9 post thread on the subject
Including a comment from Mr Chairman
Pleased he made a decision, things were dragging on for him and to be honest knew it would be difficult to pull him away from Alty. However a talented and down to earth lad who deserved a bit of interest from clubs with ambition.
We are going forward as a club and to not be involved in trying to bring lads like Damien to the club would be a travesty. Not many other clubs had put deals on the table so we did what we could. However his loyalty to Alty should be praised and I wish him all the best for the future, although not in the games against us!
-
There are a couple of Gillingham fans slagging him off on their forum about his attitude. So lets hope we draw Gillingham in the 1st Round and Damian bags a hat-trick against them to show them what they have missed out on.
-
In fairness, that's a gracious enough message from the Gainsborough chairman. At least he's not thoroughly unpleasant. Just misguided.
-
Fantastic news, hopefully it will give the rest of the squad a boost too.
Who would have guessed that goal-machines are ten-a-penny in the Football League. ;D

Indeed, Martin Allen was sure he'd score goals in league two but wanted him to go away for two weeks?
If we got a offered a striker who we knew would score goals at the level we're playing at I'm not sure I'd let him leave the building never mind ask him to go away for two weeks.
Bizarre.
-
This is BRILLIANT!! I can once again tell my friends that Altrincham have signed the top scorer in English football.
Well done Reeves, you are fast becoming a true Alty legend, and I hope you do get the chance to play regular league football soon (but not too soon. Get Alty into the automatic promotion place first).
-
Unbelievable news. Was away in Tipperary for the weekend and have only just read the news now. Never thought I'd see that happen as I was sure some League club would come in for him.....their loss is certainly our gain and if he continues where he left of, it surely won't be too long before he realises his ambition of league football, but in the meantime welcome back Reevesy.
COME ON ALTY
-
I can once again tell my friends that Altrincham have signed the top scorer in English football.
Annoyingly, he was actually just pipped to that accolade by Wealdstone's Richard Jolly, who scored 48 goals:

There's always next season though!

He's retired now .. so he doesn't count! ::)

Though there are more saying he looked ok on Saturday and hopefully mad dog knows what he is doing. Just a bit of perspective, none of us fans know anything about his attitude.
-
Will Ecky be carrying out his promise of carrying Damian around on his back shouting 'Reeves, we've got Reeves'?!?
