if you had to pick one team to watch (other than alty) and you had to pay for the privilige who would you go and watch? (can be any team in the world)
personally i'd go and watch AC Meelan must be great to have a season ticket there and get to watch kaka every other week.
-
Having watched league football in the major European leagues I still think the prem tops it for entertainment and pace. Id go with:
O Marseille - Atmosphere
Barcelona - Attacking talent on show
Man Utd - Hate to say it but the best prem games are always at OT
Id prefer alty every time though, just because watching them impacts my whole week, not just the 90 minutes im watching, now that is value for money!
-
Arsenal, and never thought I'd say that when used to watch Football League matches on a Sunday Afternoon in the 80's !!!!
-
Sheffield Wednesday - I miss the despair............although Alty sometimes manage to re-create the same feeling
Staveley Miners Welfare.......is it still 20p to get in ?........great value
-
Sorry I know you said "other than Alty" but it's Alty for me mate, hence the reason as to why I stopped watching top level football and started watching and supporting Alty on a permanent basis, as opposed than just going down to Moss Lane once or twice a season.
I love everything about watching Alty, no matter how frustrating it can be.
-
Alty 79 - 80 or the team I never got to see Alty 90-91 if I couldn't watch the present day Robins.
-
Kendal Town: I have a soft spot for the town & its people (but not their manager - eh GH?)
-
prestatyn town, in the welsh premier league. my nans home town and i figure if i can't be at moss lane i may as well be somewhere near to my grandparents so i can look after them
-
Fleetwood Town, non-league and local.
-
Real Madrid
or southampton circa 1995

Talk me through that one...... I know I'm biased living the in place 'down the road' but if I remember that team it consisted of his Mattness (ok... worth paying to see him) and .... no-one else I'd pay a penny to watch.
Were you thing of Francis Benali, Jason Dodd, Ian Dowie, Jeff Kenna, Jim Magilton, Neil Shipperley, Brice Grobelaar (in his "bung" period- allegedly) ????

Therefore highly entertaining, and they scored a few goals as a team too.

Oldham 1990-1 ish.
-
United around 1994 with Andrei Kanchelskis. What a player.
Otherwise, Borussia Dortmund because of the amazing stadium.

Gazelle....surely Hearts of Oak must be the team to watch in Ghana. They insist Stanley Matthews played for them but i can't find anything online to verify this claim.
I would like to travel back in time to watch some of the Alty v Enfield games.
-
he did play in ghana and it is a possibility as hearts of Oak are the big club in Accra us Asantis hate them after all we are the superior tribe.
The match at which 250 people died was between the two teams. i have been to a couple of matches between the two and it is well naughty they is top boys on both sides thankfully plod has it well stitched up these days . one of kotoko's top boys has a unicycle which he can go backwards on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Glad to see another great British tradition has been exported to Africa. Maybe Setanta will consider showing grudge matches from around the world.
-
