Well Done Lee!
« on: March 06, 2012, 09:54:20 PM »

For making two cracking signings and making the right changes at half time. Phelan and Clee coming on completely changed the game, masterstroke.

Well done to all the team; we've finally broken our curse and come back from being 1 down to win! Superb battling performance, very happy  :)

Agreed, didn't deserve the grief he got at Stortford, he is finding his feet now.

New signings are making the whole place feel more positive.

Indeed, well done Lee. That was one in the eye for the "no plan B" brigade!

More importantly, we're right back in the hunt for a playoff place. Lots more hard work ahead of us yet, though.

Hardly a masterstroke bringing on your best player though? Was there any particularly reason why Clee didn't start? I must say we looked like a completely different team when he came on, really got at them down the flanks and used the extra man.

Very good win tonight, especially considering we were completely outplayed by 10 men for the first 60 minutes.

Fantastically scrappy second goal that seem to take and age to cross the line. I think that is the first time this season I have seen us win ugly rather than trying to walk the ball into the back of the net.

Masterstroke to sign Phelan. Give him a bit of credit, we're football fans we're supposed to exaggerate.

Eastbourne 1 point off relegation with one win in ten

Histon 6 points off relegation with two wins in ten

Altrincham 2 points off the play-offs with two defeats in ten

As far as being offered this in May 2011.....taken thank you.

Good work from LS, shows that a little patience and perspective can work.

I don't know this for certain but if you read Danny's bit in the programme you will see that Nicky Clee suffered bruised ribs on Sunday. I've had bruised ribs and they can't half interfere with your (in my case quite limited) fitness

With regards Histon and Eastbourne. Sorry but no, I'll never judge this football club relative to their performances, not even combined.

And I feel a little sorry at a man of your stature doing so RR.

But yes, LS did it well tonight, not too many managers make a decisive double stroke at half time and he got it spot on, I'd rather have taken Richman off than Lwrie but he got it just right. With the caveat that Clee should've started if fit, but there's only so much we know.

Somewhow we managed to cope with the loss of Eddie Paynter in the 2nd half.

Stature or size!

It was in a "recovery from relegation stylee" rather than a club status standpoint. I would say that Eastbourne have the ability to be a far higher funded club than we are currently.

Histon are a no comment club
