Three hours on a coach detrimental to a player's well-being? Stop half way and let them walk about for a bit then.

It would be for Raheem Sterling, for whom breathing seems to be a burden.

I think there is a credible argument for regionalising the lower leagues in this way. However, in a world where Bishops Stortford can end up in Conference North, there are no perfect solutions.

I agree - but until the lower reaches of the Football League are made to live within their financial means nothing of this kind will happen - that will only come about if one or two banks pull the plug - and in any event drawing geographical lines, be they horizontal, vertical or diagonal will leave someone in a situation like that of Stortford or Lowestoft. It happened to Leek Town a while back - placed in Southern League Premier & condemned to Tuesday night trips to the south coast - and to Curzon - placed in Northern Counties East for a year or two. For so long as clubs lust after sugar daddies there will be no solution to this one - sadly, vain ambition beats common sense every time.

There is a very credible argument for regionalising the lower leagues and I'm convinced that the day will come. It makes no sense whatsoever for Gateshead and Torquay to be in the same league. It would probably be a logistical nightmare to organise, but I'd love to have a half decent chance of seeing a majority of our away games, as I did last season.

If regionalisation is the solution why do we have clubs in regional leagues yet still with financial difficulties?

Give me Bristol Rovers over North Ferriby any day.

As has been said, where do you draw the line geographically on this? There will always be clubs displaced and long journeys to be made.

What are Bob McClement and Bill East doing?
