Attitude pleases Alty boss

GRAHAM Heathcote insisted Alty's league position means nothing, despite watching them climb out of the relegation zone for the first time this season on Tuesday night.
The Robins came from behind to beat Kidderminster 2-1 at Moss Lane, allowing them to leapfrog Farsley Celtic in the battle to avoid relegation from the Blue Square Premier.
But even though their current 20th place is as good as it has got so far this season, the Alty boss was more concerned with the attitude of his players.
"I'm not bothered about the table right now," said Heathcote. "I'm bothered about our application, endeavour and determination - that's all I would wish for and I'm sure that's all our supporters would wish for.
"The players gave us exactly what we asked from them.
"But you can't go overboard. We've got a bit of a rest now before the York game and it's all about whether we can build on this.
"There's still a huge job ahead of us but we just have to do all we can to stay in this division."
Heathcote also admitted he was still hard at work in a bid to further improve his squad before the January transfer window closes.
Six players have already arrived since the start of the month, five on loan, while Gareth Whalley has been released.
And although there are unlikely to be any more departures, Heathcote is still hoping to add more strength in depth.
He said: "There's room to bring more players in and I will do if the right people are available.
"There will be movement before the end of the transfer window and more players will come into the market so we'll just have to see.
"It's unlikely any more will be leaving though."
