Gutted... sounds like could be further delay in fans returning...

1st link below covers £10mill for Oct/Nov/Dec ie our share £84k per mth...

https://www.altrinchamfc.com/news/national-league-clubs-receive-government-grant-funding

2nd link (today) covers further £11mill (of which we are entitled a share) for Jan/Feb/Mar...

NB top league football eg Prem & cricket get nothing as 'can pay for themselves'... but link mentions National Lge & FURTHER £11mill...

https://www.skysports.com/more-sports/news/29877/12136291/government-announces-300m-winter-survival-package-for-sports

Guess implies no fans at footy until April... ☹️
Hopefully that is wrong as myself & loads missing footy...

LET FANS IN!

Suprising really. I'm expecting a vaccine to be available for the elderly and vulnerable come January and once that has been deployed the rules can then be watered down.

Mind you, if grounds are allowed 25% max capacity and social distancing is still required I imagine it will take a while to get everyone thru the gates.

Nigel Huddleston MP on the £300m funding:

"The majority of this funding will be given through low interest loans, with flexible repayment terms. Grants where organisations are unable to repay loans."

"The first tranche of support will be distributed by the end of the year."

I guess, going by recent media reports, even if the news about the two or three vaccines mentioned on the News in the last week is good (ie 90%-94.5% successful, even in elderly), it still will take a while for sign off, safety check process, then mainly distribution...

Talk of care home residents/staff/nhs first, then elderly, then vulnerable, then staggered ages from older to youngest thereafter... plus everyone needs two doses 28days apart (apparently)... thus they may get some vaccines to care homes/elderly around christmas or early January, but may take 6-9mths to cover everyone; so maybe looking at no fans (reduced fans) til next season...

Also re new trenche of govt funds... first 3mths (Oct,Nov,Dec) appeared to be grants ie supposedly do not pay back... BUT new funding announced today appears maybe loans not grants ie usually have to pay back... hopefully more detail will confirm in next couple of days or maybe Bill/Management could enlighten us if they know... hopefully will be grants not loans...

Once those in greatest need, those over say, say 70, have had two jabs we will be in a much better position AND we will be into spring or later.

Easter Sunday is the fourth of April, that will be set as a target for those vulnerable folk, after that I see a very rapid opening up. Fans in Moss Lane in April, perhaps a bit earlier.

Science. Bloody marvellous.
