I see Mike Clegg has joined as Chief Scout from Ashton after the two recent hidings they were given.

Well connected fella in non league circles, should hopefully open up some new avenues for us.

Is he the ex man u player who retired from playing in his mid to late twenties?
If so, isn't he still on the staff there?

I think he is somebody different who just happens to have the same name.

Ah, okay. Thanks for that SH.

Speaking of our development players, it looks like Amaar Hussain has picked up a very unfortunate injury and the club are looking to help him cover the surgery costs with a fundraiser: https://altrinchamfc.com/blogs/news/the-fight-within-the-fighter-supporting-amaar-hussain

Not to detract from the raising of cash, but why is a player with a senior sqaud number (12), not insured.

"While senior Alty players under contract are covered for medical expenses by the PFA..." why is the lad not under a pro. contract but deemed good enough to be given 12 shirt.

Is this another contractual f**k up?

There's a young chap (Billingsley?) scoring a few goals at youth and reserve level.

Anyone got any info on him?
Yes, it is Lewis Billingsley, who has been very prolific at that level.

He has recently gone on loan to Ashton Athletic in the North West Counties Premier, where he scored two goals on his debut. He certainly looks like he might be one for the future, but I imagine he will go on loan somewhere higher again as the next step.

Thank you

Talking of Michael Clegg (as we were, last month), our chief scout is expected to become the new Warrington Rylands manager according to the Warrington Guardian.
