The northern premier league
« on: December 27, 2016, 11:45:20 AM »

Last nine winners have all been clubs of sufficient means. Previous winning managers

Martin Grey (Darlington)
Karl Marginson (FC United)
Garry Flitcroft (Chorley)
Billy Heath (north ferriby)
Neil Young (Chester)
Neil Aspin (Halifax)
Steve Kitterick (Guiseley)
Paul Cox (Eastwood Town
Tony Greenwood (Fleetwood town)

Don't know what the answer is in terms getting out at the first attempt. Everyone is going to want to beat you in that league so we need to be bold enough and strong enough to not let that be factor. We need look to next season now, 14 points adrift, 15 with the goal difference and no real flicker of hope that we will win a league game any time soon. Is it chucking in the towel? Probably, but note Kidderminsters position to our own.

Worrying when you see the teams that have won that league..........as you say, "sufficient means", albeit no reason why that won't be us next season if things are prepared for

With the exception of Eastwood, all those clubs have 'done ok' since

Out of the 9 managers mentioned,5 are managing higher than us,3 have quit football and I wouldn't touch the other one with a barge pole!!

Requiring a manager to have won the league we're in before is a policy that landed us with Neil Young. We need to be more flexible and imaginative.

The issue is that just like when we were in the unibond we will be the big club and the one many will look out for on fixtures day.  They will raise their games, we need a team capable of top 10 in the conf north to win it.  Current form and team would probably find us mid table at best

Hope admission is down to £10 at most in the npl. If not prepare for gates of 500 or less! I am certainly not coughing up £14 to see pub standard football!

I think you may getting gates of 500 or less regardless next season.

No way the prices will fall to a tenner. I predict £14.

£10 appears to be the norm. It certainly should be no more than that (though Corby charge £12 & Hednesford £11). People will quite reasonably jib at anything over £10 & a season ticket ought to represent at least a 10% saving on matchday prices. I would suggest that anything over £10 matchday admission/£200 for a season ticket will drive customers away rather than attract them.
