The MBNA Northwest Football Awards take place at The Point at Lancashire County Cricket Club tonight:-

Sam is a finalist in the category of 'Rising Star of The Year' Award.

The list of finalists is as follows:-

Alan Browne – Preston North End Football Club

Mark Gillespie – Carlisle United Football Club

Sam Heathcote – Altrincham Football Club

Max Power – Wigan Athletic Football Club

Marcus Rashford – Manchester United Football Club

Joe Williams – Everton Football Club

Jordan Williams – Barrow AFC

While wishing Sam to do well, I don't think that "can't get a game in a rubbish team that are bottom of the 6th tier of English football" meets the criteria of rising star.
