as we are predominantly anti drums at the lane, i thought a quote from ian hollaway following a great victory for blackpool last night, was worth further consideration:

"There is a lad in the crowd who bangs a drum and gets everyone going. I'd like to give him a SNOG! He wouldnt like it, but his drum works for us"

perhaps it could work for us? the cambridge drummer boy was also good last week.

whoever volunteered might get to snog the manager.

it could make the difference.shall we go for it?

would be ok at Alty , like a mini Aldershot as long as the drummer doesnt feel the need to bang the annoying fuc*ing thing every 2 seconds

Thanks but no thanks!

The drum works at Aldershot/Cambridge because they both have a great big bank of singers who are not drowned out by the drum. In the case of the Aldershot drummer(s) they also appear to be able to play the drum (as opposed to just whacking it as hard as they can - there is a difference!)

I'd rather listen to my old man banging a tune out of the old dear than some f**ker with a drum / trumpet / kazoo / triangle or any other musical instrument, thanks very much.

It winds me up almost as much as piped Queen songs etc - I think the Alty crowd's pretty vocal, considering its size and seems more than capable of creating thier own atmosphere without being told what and when to sing.

He's a good drummer and well renowned throughout the league's - ask Southampton.

It wouldn't work as when the drummer starts we don't have 6,000 who carry on chanting, at least it would just be plain annoying.

Wish this thread would go away.
Wish the drums and drummers could go with it.

If I want to listen to drums, I'll find Ginger Baker.

My Robbie bought a full size Bodhran in Ireland a couple of weeks ago and it makes a hell of a din.
I'll bring it on Saturday ;D

Please NO.

Even the drum banging in a 20 second report from Blackpool on Gillette* Soccer Saturday annoys the s**t out of me.

I'd rather see Dave Lee Travis play Macbeth.

Will it be ok if I bring a tambourine and a penny whistle?

Who remembers the picture of Eastbourne fans where one bloke had a guitar.
