Josh Thompson (ex Stockport, Celtic, Rochdale) was released by Tranmere at the end of the season, can't see where he's gone after that, might be a free agent, or might have even left the game?

I'll tweet him and ask - seemed to work with Cav!

Now at soutport.

Ah - thanks.

Scott leather will do well as he always does
I am confident he will take his chance and make it difficult for the manager to drop him back to the bench
As the only remaining fit centre-back as of now his place is nailed on (injury permitting, perish the thought!) for at least the next four weeks. This is not the issue. The thought of Jake Moult at centre-back for the foreseeable future should gave anyone pause for thought. Another central defender is urgently needed; to best partner Leather a strong (but not immobile) physical presence would be preferable. A loan player has to be affordable - at this stage of the season there might be a potential permanent signing out there, which could be a better option as we are likely to need someone to replace Marshall for a considerable period, but time is short. I'm sure the management will do their level best to have someone in place by the weekend & wish them luck in their search!

I fully agree but we should mention that Moult was superb there in the last ten minutes winning headers everywhere.

Well we don't need to hit I have anyway.

You know what, it really wouldn't surprise me if he starts Moult there, we're that stubborn with the purse strings

they were on the case from as early as just after full time last night so I hear. They won't risk moult or a young heathcote there against such a direct side as Dover.I guess we'll bring someone in, in time to train with us on Thursday. Then announced on Friday. I personally wouldn't announce it. Woking made no announcement about the signing of dan Holman and everyone only found out at kickoff. I'm happy to keep diver guessing

Looking forward to seeing who we come up with

Dugdale for an initial month does seem like an obvious option - anybody got Ken McKenna's number?  ???

unless you know the budget that's a harsh statement on the board and the board can't be blamed for the balance of the squad

Can't agree. We ran at a loss during the promotion season and when we were last relegated. The last few years most of the profits have been minimal. There's never been a pile of cash just sitting there. We typically spend what we have.

No need for Scott to 'step-up'..........there is a good argument to say he is as good as Tom Marshall anyway, although I suspect not everyone will agree that our former 2014 player of the year is.
Both players have their strong points

Apparently Keith Hill looking to 'ship out' up to 3 players from Rochdale this week - hopefully we could be on the phone to them to see if one of them is Tanser.

Having said that, I assume any deal is tied up now and we'll hear about it tomorrow.

There's a lad called Andy Parry at Luton who I've been told is looking for a loan move.
