Ballers, you must have been at a different game or dozed off for 15 minutes! It was hardly "Blitzkreig" on the Northwich defence although you were correct Shotton did move up (as one of our two/three spare men) to give the "assist" for Joe's goal!  :D

Dave,

I understand but the boot was on the other foot this time! I am sure when you coach your team you press the importance of the "spare man", when you have three spare you should really be enjoying it! Northwich did work hard but even so pushing up should surely have reaped an even greater reward (Only in goal terms not points).

But three points all the same irrespective of the margin I suppose. ;D

I understood the five (four really) were full-time players hence no need to worry about match fitness. GH was right to change players near the end to exploit a very tired and depleted Northwich side.

What was worrying was that you should (although sometimes difficult) beat ten men, hammer nine men and get a nice goal difference against eight men. Tactically shouldn't we have put more "up front" to get more goals, I thought it was not very adventurous playing the ball around the back-four at two-one, who knows what could have happened?

All-in-all and given the circumstances the new boys fitted in excellently and we looked capable of scoring more, perhaps (if it ever happens again this season) we should work out the tactics to batter eight or nine men!

Come on you Alty!

Any explanation  why a bald headed "Gentleman" with Northwich colours decided to bang into me (little effect) so decided to elbow my 20 year old daughter in the stomach on the way past as we returned to our car?

Sorry my friend you need to look at your fan's poor behaviour in defeat, don't recollect any similar experiences at Altrincham when you won!

Well Jezza, If Flynny isn't I am coming in mine!

Tested it out last night, I would also expect both the Flynns to be wearing the necessary and salute the "goal feast" in the traditional Stafford manner!

I thought the fans were magnificent at Woking, clearly outchanting the local team and demonstrating their commitment to the team they love. ;D

This Saturday should be no different despite the difficult circumstances.

Its offical, The Soveregns is officially the "pub of the year" for Surrey and Hampshire. So hopefully this will conclude this topic!

As an exile from Tuesday to Thursday in Woking, I don't think its that bad at all and having savoured the delights of every pub/restuarant - can I suggest the following.

I agree with SW that the Soveriegns is probably the best "pub" and has plenty of real ale on at all times. But there is a nice pub/restaurant called Enzo's which of course serves italian food - if your budget stretches that far (it will impress the Missus) it is always very friendly and Mrs Tracey, young Alex and myself will be dining there after our 2-1 win against Woking ;D

Otherwise in the centre O'Neills (Irish pub chain) serves good food and traditional irish "craic" and now has seating outside to savour the delightful weekend weather in prospect.

Probably ones to avoid are the Station and Weatherspoons if you don't like that type of place (obviously cheapest for food and drink and open from 9:00 am!)

See you in Woking on Saturday!

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Marcus Hallows

Absolutely Brilliant! It was great to see a lot of the Alty "boys and girls" turning up - Marcus really did appreciate it.

I have suggested to Mr Rowley that its time to book Marcus for Alty (singing this time) - I am sure he will pack the place.

I am looking forward to the replay anyway! Mr Cult, yes Elvis has at last left the building!;D

A number of people I spoke to yesterday expressed interest in going to see Marcus at The Quarry Bank Tonight at 9pm, including two of our three youth team coaches....I didn't speak to George Heslop!!

Anyway I am sure it will be good & I know that Marcus would be delighted to see a few Alty fans in attendance.

Time to get the Alty shirt on and wear it with pride! They have an auction at 17:00 today for a signed Alty shirt, so might be worth a visit before Elvis appears, Marcus for one deserves some support! ;D
