Altrincham FC First Team / Re: The £600,000 early 00's debt...
« on: February 10, 2010, 06:09:15 PM »

Re. that often quoted £600,000 debt.

Someone will no doubt correct me if I've got this wrong but isn't it the case that we didn't actually pay back that amount in full?

As I recall, circa £370,000 of that figure of £600,000 comprised what Gerry Berman was claiming back as a Director's loan.

As repayment of the sum claimed by former Chairman Berman was conditional on the club relocating to a new stadium (and since this prospect was subsequently eliminated), wasn't that particular debt effectively written off?

Mister Heslop will no doubt be able to confirm or deny my aforementioned theory.

I also recollect that it would certainly have contained a number of director's loans. I for one wrote mine off to the club, a gesture which was appreciated at the time in writing by Mr Goodwin.

I think that these sums (Director's loans) are also reported in the annual accounts issued by the club to shareholders.

Yes I agree, over to you Mr Heslop!

What about Andrew Strauss and Glenn Hoddle or Steve McDonald from Coronation street and Berbatov (He certainly plays like Steve McDonald!) ;D

ice hockey?
I decided that the Tracey's should have a sporting Christmas so I booked for the Manchester Pheonix (Ice Hockey) game against Sheffield Scimitars just before Christmas.

So the merry gang set off on the short walk from Timperley to Altrincham Ice Rink... only to be met with "The game has been postponed due to the weather!", obviously I retorted "are you taking the p*ss this is Ice Hockey!" The actual reason was that Sheffield were unable to get across the pennines.... this was of course followed by the Boxing Day postponement at Wrexham (coaches booked and tickets in hand!)... the rest is now history.

Foolishly I have booked the Train from AT and me to travel down for the Wimbledon game (no refund fixed train tickets) and as such I am desperate for the game to be on!  ;D

Dear Dino

I am more than willing to apologise for any offence caused by this posting, and will also apologise personally at the game this Saturday - providing I have recovered from the cold I currently have!!

In the meantime I apologise for any offence caused to you and your family which I am not afraid to do publicly, and will also see you on Satuiday in the bar before the game at 230pm, I'll buy you a pint!.

Cheers and Im glad you sent the message if it has caused offence, none of which I meant and regretted after the original posting.

Best regards

Steve from Sale

Steve,

I am sure Dino will welcome the unexpected apology!

Dino

You dont share part of your name with a certain Thunderbird crew do you

DT here, very confused as to why Steve of Sale would want to call Dino - Jeff, Alan, Virgil, John, Scott or Gordon - very confused individual methinks!

I was looking at some old posts and noticed Jezza had posted to look at the Star4alty website. Out of interest I thought I would take a quick look to see if it linked through to TASC.

I was suprised by what I saw, but if this is a new way of raising money for Alty, I will click further! ;D

I am just testing this at the moment so there is no 'official' button but if you put your mouse pointer after the tab at the top that says 'log out' you will find a link to a 'new section' of the forum.

This has not gone live yet and I am adding new 'things' to it constantly... Please feel free to test it all out and notify me of any bugs \ problems.

Thanks

Gaz,

I have just finished playing Othello, do you have to lose before you can submit a score?
