Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Strategic Review Meeting: Coverage
« on: February 27, 2017, 02:24:47 PM »
Grahame was a Director of Altrincham before under Mark Harris who was the Chairman (from 2001 until 2002). Alty's history is never black and white although it was once White and Swales!

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Review
« on: February 10, 2017, 01:40:46 PM »
Having been a professional management consultant for over 20 years during my career with KPMG, PW and EY and having carried out many strategy studies my view is that the participants in the review should all receive a copy of he review as soon as possible. I never had a client who was happy for me to stand up and simply do a presentation, circulation of reports was always required to those deemed as Stakeholder in the strategic process.

There has been plenty of time to organise this and my reasoning is it recognises the supporters who contributed as key stakeholders in the strategic roll out.

In addition it would also mean supporters who did contribute are recognised for their contribution by the board (something that would be welcomed by many during these difficult times).

Probably Sunday night is not the best time for this and once again this could have been discussed on this forum to try and get consensus from everyone interested in this key milestone in the club's future.

Hopefully the board will read the forum posts and change their decisions appropriately - even if this means delaying the presentation (it has already been too long to wait already for an "urgent " process).

Should be an interesting meeting!

Cult

Just to clairfy what actually happened, the board asked the shareholders (owners) whether they were willing to clear the club's debt by splitting it 50/50 between the board and owners. This gesture was not accepted by the owners and a challenge issued as to whether the board would resign if agreement wasn't made. The rest is history.

People should read wiki and corporate govenance, the shareholders own the company and the directors simply administer it.

A shame really as the board were staunch Alty fans as well (Jeremy did have a tint of blue). Not sure where we go from here but shareholding does carry responsibility.

Given the urgency to participate in the review and the current dire on-field situation at the club, shouldn't the full presentation (warts and all) be presented at latest by the end of January?  Is this an independent review or not? Also in the spirit of transparency, why can't the document be shared if requested?

Interesting views being made, what I would like to know is the timescales that the Strategic Study is being delivered in and when the recommendations are likely to be actioned.

Specifically it would be good to know:
- When will the review be completed?
- What period is the review covering i.e. is it an "until the end of season thing", three year or five year plan?
- How will the supporters be advised of the recommendations?
- Will the review be independent or subject to board input before release?

Can anybody answer these questions as I think a lot of people are expecting "tactical" (i.e. short-term recommendations) alongside longer term "strategic" recommendation. The balance is critical to decide whether to write off this season or start preparing for next.

I look forward to the answers!

What does the massive bit mean?

26
Mr Flynn,

Any response to when the outcome of the Strategic Review will be completed and how it will be presented to the "masses"?

Blimey that Nicky Lad works quickly.....

Brian

Duly completed, what are the timescales for the review and how will the results be presented back?

Interesting times :)
