Altrincham FC First Team / BBC Sport - Colin's pen pic
« on: April 08, 2010, 11:35:40 PM »
BBC Sport Colin Little article and photo :-

Seeing the photo, I reckon Colin's got a good ten years in him yet.........the photo must have been taken when he was playing for the U16s !

From the main site....

Steve Evans boasting about how their budget is much less than Ebbsfleets and how nearly making the play-offs is such an achievement.......he also says that Ebbsfleet "are going to be relegated". Very subtle indeed.

They are also driving themsleves to away games again.......cost saving exercise

Game off tonight by order of the Administrator. No buyer has made an 'acceptable' offer by tonight's deadline and the Administrator may close the club in the next 48hrs.

Another situation where a team has tried to buy success with money it never had. Who knows Lewes, St Albans and Weymouth could be added soon

.......what money you can afford at the club

It would be nice if we had a decent attendance considering no home game for so long.

We need to encourage people to buy raffle tickets (New Years Draw), a pie, a pint, a programme,  a golden goal etc. With no game for so long and losing lucrative fixtures too, the club must be desparate for some cash.
It would be nice if everyone could make every effort to attend, and buy at least one of the above.

Altrincham FC First Team / United game and linesman
« on: January 03, 2010, 03:36:36 PM »
Just watched Manchester United's exit from the FA Cup........the linesman on the same side of the pitch as the cameras looked very familiar !

I haven't checked yet, but think he might have been the ref at our infamous home game against Mansfield.....the one where the NL Paper scored him as something like 4 out of 10 for his sterling performance in avoiding speaking to any of the Mansfield players for their poor, dangerous and clumsy challenges.

Doing the right thing !

Quote from Rushe......"Of course the extra money we make this week will help to pay off some of the club’s debt. Anything left over will be saved for a rainy day"
Why doesn't he pay off ALL the debt and have nothing left for a rainy day ?

I hope the taxman is taking note of the recent influx of income which no doubt Rushe will want to spend on a Conference return before he even considers paying what he owes

Altrincham FC First Team / Chester and the FA
« on: August 13, 2009, 03:21:14 PM »
DevaChat reckons they have a green light from the FA after a meeting today.........which is good news for AFC

It also says they are discussing whether or not it's -10 pts or -25pts........the bloody cheek of it, it should be increased to -30 as a consequence of the rules being waived to allow them to play and not cock-up the whole BSN season

Not looking good for them

As stated elsewhere HM Revenue went to court this week and overturned the decision in June which allowed Chester to exit Admin........to exit Admin Chester had to agree a CVA with their creditors i.e an agreement must be reached whereby Chester repay their debt at a certain rate over an agreed time period.
To get agreement in the UK, 75% of the creditors (by value) have to vote in favour. The £1M owed to HM Revenue amounted to less than 25% of total money owed and hence attracted less than 25% of the votes.

Therefore HMR could not block any CVA proposals (no matter how derisory) provided the other creditors voted in favour

It will be interesting to see why HMR won their appeal - could there have been some creative accounting going on here so that HMRs vote was under 25% ?

Anyway, in the meantime let's hope everything is still ok for Bank Hol Monday

Altrincham FC First Team / Vics in Admin
« on: July 28, 2009, 07:40:21 PM »
Source Northwich Guardian

Vics held their creditors meeting yesterday in an attempt to exit administration........they offered them 25p in the pound, over 5 years, which I guess is much better than what most other clubs have offered recently (although as a creditor you still lose three quarters of what you are owed !).

It seems that the largest single creditor, HM Revenue who are owed £400k+ rejected the offer and are now mulling over an improved offer. There is no other news.

If I were HMR, then I would object to the payment over 5 years. The payment is overdue already and I would not want to wait up to 5 years for just 25% of my money when a) the company has a history of failing to meet payments, and b) the Chairman has already told everyone he is about to buy the stadium for £1.3M
