I've got to be honest this bit about Graham heatchcotes reaction had me roaring with laughter.

Altrincham manager Graham Heathcote had already signed up most of his squad for next season and, having gone down despite amassing 51 points, he was enjoying a peaceful summer slumber before having a good crack at the BS North title. A confused Heathcote was woken from under a 1982 copy of ‘Which? Pub’ to be told of his team’s reinstatement. Understandably, his first reaction was one of incoherent panic.

“We were a bottom four side so we will have to look to improve, although at this level it is difficult,” jabbered the flustered manager. “There are a lot of finances involved, which make it difficult to compete. The same problems still exist. If people think it will be any easier they will be wrong.”
