I thought he deserved his own thread really as he's solved a huge headache we had in the middle of the park.

From reading the Mansfield forum, it doesn't sound like many expect him back any time soon - possibly ever - so let's hope there's a good chance to get him permanently if he continues to do well.

The only thing going against us is the full time to part time status change. There would be a marked reluctance from any full time player to do this, but you never know. I agree though that he has showed up pretty well so far.

We managed to get Ceesay from blackpool so fingers crossed

PP mentioned he'd been in contact with Mansfield on his performance so it looks like they're keeping tabs on his progress. He's in the mould of a Nigel Clough player, perhaps a long loan might be a possibility?

I can see him as maybe a Lundstram type figure who really makes a difference to the team.

Not necessarily the style of play, but by his impact.

With Clough being new to Mansfield I'd be amazed if he'd already decided his services weren't needed - he'll be having a good look at him for sure.

One of those where we could do with Mansfield results picking up over the next few weeks so they don't recall him as he's no worse than what they've got.

Also, another football league club seeing us as a good development ground can't be a bad thing either - we can't always just rely on Crewe.

It is making me smile that some on here not so long ago were less than gushing on Parkie's latest loan signings.
Now we're enthusiastic about this lad (justifiably imo), Dales is looking good too.
And McDonald's just opened his account.

Perhaps PP knows a bit more than some on here eh?

PS. Robbins and Sass-Davies are okay too aren't they?

Agreed. It isn't an instant fix even for capable loanee to find their feet and blend in. I've been watching football for 62 years and figured this out some time ago.

Phil and Neil have a very solid record with loanees.

Have made or are making an impact:

Connor Hampson - gone on to become a first team regular
Chris Merrie - valuable contributions alongside Moult during the NPL run-in
Yusifu Ceesay - big part in the 18/19 run-in
Owen Dale - quality during his time here
Ashley Hemmings - solid
Joe Piggott - solid enough
Billy Sass-Davies - looking like he'll be solid
Josh Lundstram - class
Andy Dales - potential is there
Joe Robbins - tidy enough
Alistair Smith - looks a player

Didn't make an impact for whatever reason:

Brendon Daniels
Josh Langley - didn't play a first team game?
Chris Sang
Nathan Waterston - got injured a few minutes after coming on?
Ethan Walker

Decent, I have always thought PP and Neil are decent with loans.

I believe in them both and they play the football the way I enjoy to watch.

I did question the Potter and Fis signings, which I still stand by.

The performance on Sat was absolutely outstanding. To keep that tempo for 90 mins was a joy to watch.

We shouldn't fear anyone. With players coming back and hopefully McDonald gets a run we should cause any team problems.

Let's face it, Potter's contribution was up there with the likes of Jamie Phoenix, Danny Higginbotham and Fabio Bassangue.

Glad we can already laugh about it (I think)...

Do you want to do one of the permanent signings we've made?

I think it's people like you who Parky was alluding to in his post match interview
