Classic stuff........Kevin Ellison & Gary Talbot's first Alty goals..............spotted Rocky Robin & Rosie in the crowd............& brilliant commentary...."It's a topsy turvy"!!!!
Kingstonian had some very good players then, didn't they?

I was only just 18 years old then. Valuable proof that I haven't always been fat! ;)

The Kinetic Yellow & Black away kit.........timeless!
Have we had any other wacky kits?
-
Does anyone else remember a bare-footed Tony Rigby doing kick-ups on the pitch that day?
I think he saw his arse because he'd been named as a sub so he didn't play at all.

The bright orange away kit from 2001/02 takes some beating.

One of the first games I went to after years of non-attendance (I moved out of Alty aged 5 in my defense!). Spotted myself and Dad behind the goal celebrating the first goal.
I remember arriving at the ground and the early arrivals were stood in the corner of the ground singing "we'll score again, don't know where don't know when but we know we'll score again some sunny day" - It was and we did!
My memory of their second goal had their striker holding Stu down for three times as long - I was convinced the only reason they scored was that Stu was being held down. Not sure he would have done much about it even if he could have bounced back up looking at the replay but he was still fouled to be taken down in the first place!
Great find well done (still hate that kit!)

did the commentator say "one out of the coffee book" for their first goal??
great find that by the way

I like our secret goalkeeper..Stuart Covert

"This games like a topsy-turvy!"
It may just be the accent but that didnt half make me laugh.

The away game at Sutton that season was a very forgettable affair!

I did, very quickly in the bar afterwards. Mind you myself and Rocky did get our revenge later in the season as we boarded the Sutton supporters bus to Alty for our 3-0 win.
We won't mention anything else about that will we Rocky?

UG, RR, MF and myself were quizzed by a rather upset K's director as to why the Alty faithful were hurling racist abuse. He was under the impression the shout was "You Black B*st*rd" aimed at one of their outfield lads. He was relieved to learn it was in fact "You M*cc B*s*trd" sung for the benefit of Mr Farrelly, who when questioned by us kindly confirmed this and turned out to be a top bloke.
Highlight of the day was a leisurely drink in the directors bar (we were the self appointed London Alty after all) where we came face to face with the FA Trophy (K's were holders) and bizzarely Chris Kelly - the Leatherhead Lip who was a director at Kingstonian. Having reminded him at length(!) of the 78 final he did reveal Kingy had scared the living daylights out of his team in the tunnel.
First point of the season rather spoiled by having to accept that two sworn enemies were in fact, alright really.

If I remember correctly, Tony Rigby possessed a considerable arse to see....
