Grimsby v Luton 4 Sept 5.15pm
Newport v Wrexham 5 Sept 1.00pm

Maybe we can get back on the TV again this season.

Would have preferred the BBC highlights deal myself. Not sure if I'm willing to fork out for Luton FC TV
-
Was a stupid idea to turn the BBC one down...
-
As soon as it was announced I know a few who said it will be all Luton/Grimsby/Darlington/Wrexham. 3 out of 4 in the first 2 fixtures! Not worth paying the extra in my opinion ( I can't get it anyway as I'm on the much superior Virgin).
BBC Deal would have been great.

Just thinking about it, I wonder if this means we'll have to put those awful camera towers back up again?
I certainly hope not!
-
Well I won't be shelling out £6.99 a month.
There's enough second rate live football on the existing channels.
Can't wait for Accrington Stanley v Newcastle United reserves tonight for example (yawn !!)

I certainly wont be forking out another 7 squid to watch the Southern supremacists . They will only televise teams like Alty with the fkn hope that they will be the whipping boys for the likes of Luton etc...
Sky are putting there subscriptions up in Sep anyway... Plus they will go up again in Jan 11 when Mr Osbourne's 20 VAT rate kicks in..
As for the tv towers.... No thanks...

I really, really think the BBC highlights deal would have been better given the all-round exposure it would have generated for the league, as well as avoiding moving kick-off times and subsequently buggering up plans for supporters.
-
The main site seems to indicate that this deal will not be about finance but more about exposure.
If exposure was the a key factor in the deal, surely a free to air BBC deal would have brought it into more homes.
I would put money on Premier sports pulling the deal halfway through when transport and setup costs overtake revenue from subscriptions.
-
This TV deal prfoves what Muppets (dis)organise The BSBP.
There is supposedly no money in it for clubs just exposure. That 'll be why then, that they decided to do a deal with Company who will probably get less subscribers than any BSBP club.

I read on the conference forum (through a link to the Scottish Herald) that the founder of Setanta is the bloke behind Premier Sports.
If true, it makes you wonder what might have gone on behind the scenes to persuade the Conference board to reject the BBC offer in favour of the moneyless one we've got now.
-
I think that the vast majority of Alty & BSP fans would have preferred a 'free to air' highlights package with the BBC than the current deal with Premier Sports.
I believe that the BBC was never directly involved in this, but that it was being driven by an independent broadcaster who wanted a substantial sum of money to film BSP games & that they would try to sell the highlights package to the BBC.I don't know what the figures involved were but it sounds as if there were too many 'ifs & buts' with it.
I'd be surprised if anyone thought that this deal was perfect, but at least it means the Conference have a deal in place, which I would guess positions them better for a possible future deal with one of the major broadcasters (Sky,ESPN, Eurosport,BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5).

I think it might be a bloke with a camcorder!
