What an absolutely outstanding signing. Has looked a class above (especailly when I have seen him in his Weymouth days).

Even I am now starting to feel optimistic.

Not been a huge GH fan in more recent times but the work he has done this off season has been truly outstanding.

Any news on the centre half from Wrexham?

Lee Elam has got a lot of stick of Alty fans over the years.  For me he is Phil Power, can;t stand him playing against us but for us is a different story.

I have said two or three times in the past that I am not one of these people who remembers that "there Number 7 was class" like some people do.  Lee Elam is one of the few players who i do remember ripping us to pieces in recent years.

I'm off to check some betting prices for a certain striker to top the goalscoring charts...he'll have about 10 chances a game now instead of 2.

Blue Square have him at 40/1 which is monumentally disrepectful to a man who was 2nd/3rd top scorer in this league last season and would've taken (and scored) 2 more penalties than he did in the circumstances. Presumably GH is absolutely odds on favourite to be the first manager sacked again despite what we told everyone last year.  ::)

If Jody Banim is twice as likely to be top scorer as Colin Little is this year I'll eat my hat (although I think Banim already has).

And no, Chris Senior isn't there which means he is at least 100/1

1/4 odds first 4 places.

Can I be the first to say Liam who?

One of those who scored against you in the first game of last season.

i think he was talking about Liam Brownhilll who chose not to join us this summer because he said we wouldn't be competitive enough.

Also, in fairness. Lee Steele is ridiculously over priced at 66/1. He got 13 goals last season but missed the first half of it through injury.

but with the siging of Elam does this spell the end for warren?

No.
I think (going on Elam's past record - although let's hope it's not so this time) that as soon as a better offer comes in he'll be off.
Really hope I'm mistaken as he could do us a bit of good.

Surely he is on a contract? I can't imagine for one minute that we would have a player like this on non-contract terms.

Either way, I can't see Warren leaving as he is presumably cover for Doughty as well as being one of the more defensive midfield options? By no means a starting XI player though.

My workmate who is a Crawley supporter rates him very highly - a brilliant signing for us
