I'm seriously considering avoiding the motorway all the way as well. My big worry about that journey on a Saturday is getting stuck on the motorway. I'd rather set off earlier and driver for longer on the ordinary roads.

after many years of fishing at Bewdley and bridgnorth we established the quickest route assuming no issues on m6 is to come off the m6 at junction 12 the A5 then go through shifnal and follow signs for bridgnorth then carry on down the severn valley to kiddy. spots to watch for..... the bikers cafe at quatford (the one on the left hand side) dead cheap proper greasy spoon and the cider house at quat. (you can even come off m6 earlier at junction 13 and go through penkridge if there is upduggery or mayhem.

Come off at the J6 A449 at Worcester Nth. Straight road all the way then.

Ah not that South, South East South.

Usually do M42 down to Bromsgrove and head west.

Now that's a great word I shall have to keep in the memory banks!
