Next up .... Kettering
« on: February 18, 2011, 01:57:51 PM »

I would go so far as to suggest that Histon was a watershed moment in our season. Surely that can't happen again.
However, Kettering are putting a run together and this will be a very difficult match. If we can scrape a one goal victory I would be very happy, although I am starting to feel very fatalistic at the moment.
Still, we have had some great results against Kettering in the past, last season being our best performance at home.Time for another!!

Onwards and upwards!!

Another defeat and we continue upon the slippery slope that has appeared after a great start to 2011, I can't see it and I don't have a clue how we're gonna do it but we MUST win this game. I'm starting to rely upon hope rather than belief that we will stay up.

Big improvement from tuesday required here fellas....

We came from behind 3 times at there place so we know we can score against them, need to get a grip of Marna .....

Think positive chaps

3-2 Alty in a 5 goal thriller at Moss Lane

Then we will all hopefully see a 10 goal thriller afterwards on the telly in the bar..... ;)

I'm going for my usual 1-0 to Alty (Reeves 72mins), much more defensive performance expected from us today, and we hang on and get some luck for once. Lets hope we can nick it from a free kick headed on by Youngy to Reevesy ;D

No Pukka Pies, att 872 (94 from Kett). 3 yellow and 1 red card, cloudy, and ref is crap :D

Play like Tuesday, and we'll get leathered. At our best, we might manage a draw, but even that's a big ask against a team on a decent unbeaten run.

After that abject capitulation against Histon, I would say that we somehow need to gain at least four points from the impending two home matches versus Kettering Town and York City respectively, especially in light of the fact that our next away fixture is at AFC Wimbledon.

I sense that this afternoon's game really marks a pivotal moment in our season.

We really need to see a positive reaction to last Tuesday's surrender and a reproduction of some of our better away form in the setting of Moss Lane.

Worst case scenario: another woeful performance and a defeat coupled with Eastbourne beating Histon and we would be rooted back at the foot of the table.

Bill,

Well, it looks like Greg Young is destined for the role of Alty manager twenty years from now....!
