Some good pubs in Nottingham plus Notts County would be a new ground for most.

Some good pubs in Derby - an overnighter and a visit to Belper could be a decent shout. Forest in the 3rd round would let us do Nottingham :D

Belper have taken 16pts from their 6 league games this season, it's got banana skin written all over it. Colne, on the other hand...
A big conference side short on confidence at home would be OK - Stockport (we're due a win) or Wrexham.
-
Anybody except King's Lynn away as it would only be two weeks before we go there in the league.
-
Alty are ball number 13 in the northern draw

Southport away
-
Away again ffs
-
OK draw I suppose.
Bit of a mixed season so far (much like our own), although they drew at York.
Chance for the lads to put right the league result.
-
Bad but could have been worse
-
pick this off port chat.............
"Agreed winnable, though Alty have won both of their previous FA Cup ties against Port.
On both occasions Alty subsequently drew Spurs."
Wouldn't mind that again
-
winnable for both teams....port probably favourites.
Not the best not the worst but not the home banker we would have liked..

We did actually lose a 5th QR game (equivalent to Rd 1 nowadays) 0-3 at their place in 1921, but if they don't want to remember that that's fine by me ... The two games they refer to were 1978 (4-3 here in Rd 1 - a real thriller) & 1994 (3-2 here at the same stage).
-
In keeping with the day an absolute sh*tter of a draw
-
Similar to Boston the year we went to Boston.
Hardly ideal but they'll be wondering if we can be as bad as we allegedly were on our last visit.
We seems to be passing again. Let's get there in numbers and get the seasons momentum building.

A query - I seem to remember reading (as I wasn't able to go to the relevant game) that at the League match there was no cash turnstile available on the day though it was possible to get tickets online beforehand. Have I got that right & would it be reasonable to assume some similar system will operate for the Cup-tie?

You're right about the league game - you could get tickets in their club shop and/or beforehand, or order online and then use a pass on a smartphone. 10% discount with the latter option I seem to recall.
Pretty sure that Southport now run cashless turnstiles for all games, but I can't go to the cup game so haven't looked into it.

Thanks for this - much appreciated.

I got a ticket from their clubshop on the night. It was painless.

Now available to buy on their website but without the 10% discount due to it being the FA Cup.
