Title: Anyone else see the Alty letter in the Daily Mail?
Post by: Hamilton on December 14, 2011, 11:40:43 PM
A letter from Nigel Tomlinson highlighting "The geatest ever achievement by a semi professional club," in beating Birmigham 2-1 at St Andrews.

Great letter Nigel, and good to see it getting published - even in the Scottish edition of the paper. Made my day!

Have you got a link for the article Hamilton?

I used to go to school with Nigel - Good to see he is still knocking around - does anyone know if he still lives in Alty?

Thanks George - I used to knock about with him when he lived in Byron Street - He used to be a half decent goalie back then.

George - Does he still watch Alty?

Distance Traveller he stopped watching Altrincham many years ago. The usual thing, marriage & children. We ran a football team together for nearly 20 years. 5 Years of friendlies & 15 in the Sunday League.

Much less bile and hatred in a psychiatric institution....more like spending an hour in a bunker with Hitler and Goebbels

"Altrincham FC Ji-had a good team back then"

Are muslims to blame for the downfall of one of our traditional market town football clubs?

In 1986 there were 2 indian takeaways in Altrincham, and a cup run included taking scalps from the likes of Birmingham City.

Today, with foreign take away numbers spiralling, the side have not only suffered relegation, but have seen losses to local new boys FC United.

Coincidence? You decide...

You'll catch a few with that one.

Good sport section in the Daily Mail.

Any Sports Editor who willingly prints the self centred gabblings of Graham "I'm still the best Referee in the Country" Poll deserves naught but bile and opprobrium.

I wouldn't even offend the cat by lining its litter tray with the Daily Fail...If I had a cat that is

Referees' opinions are not valid. They should be seen and not heard (I know technically that printed word is not audible), they are not the reason people wathc football. So yes I agree with you.
