Looking at the control and pass for the first goal against Gateshead, and the run and finish for the second, it occurred to me that if one considered these moments in isolation without considering what else has happened this season, one would have to conclude that Dinanga was a class act. And I must say I felt that his goals had been coming, he has come close a number of times (including, I think, a disallowed goal pre-season), not least with the shot off the underside of the bar which would have been a tremendous strike. Now of course people have grown impatient with some of the things he has done this season, and with good reason. But he scored quite a few at Websfleet (or wherever it was) didn't he? Is it just possible that, having scored, and having become more accustomed to this level and playing competitive matches with these players, he could go on a scoring run, or am I getting carried away by a couple of goals? Certainly it would be a tremendous boost for the team if he did. And whilst there would still be a big role for Jordan Hulme (whose ball control in a tight spot is reminiscent of Gary Anderson at his best), just maybe Marcus can play an important part in this season.
(Now this is the sort of thing I really want to talk about ;) )

I must admit that I had given up with him but Marcus has done well in the last few games and this certainly deserves to be recognised on this forum.
-
Just goes to show how players can prove people wrong sometimes, even experienced managers in some cases!
-
No player deserves his own thread more than Marcus at present. He has come in for a lot of criticism up until recently, but hopefully now things will come good for him. It is difficult to imagine what it is like being a striker who is not scoring regularly, I am sure it plays on their minds but Marcus has played reasonably well on many occasions and I am glad he has started to find the net.
He needs a song I think to encourage him, chanted on a regular basis. His goal v Gateshead was a great shot, and I hopeful he is going to show us what he did at Dartford last season on loan. With us behind him giving him encouragement, I am sure he has a lot more goals in him.
Keep it going Marcus, and well done for your last two goals!

Confidence is a big factor in a successful striker, so just maybe he'll start to score regularly - but I'll still need a little more persuading
-
I, together with those with whom I stood thought he was excellent today.
Goal well deserved
Obviously Byrne made important saves but, for us, Marcus MoM

my appraisal as well.

Seemed very happy with his chant. Good call that one.
-
He could still do with being more clinical but he worked his socks off today and caused them real problems - then again, I think their defence was their own worst enemy at times.
The chant is brilliant!

Id have given Dinanga mom but Byrne was a decent shout.
No idea how we scored 3 in the second half as we only had the ball for what felt like 14 mins
Really hope barrows and Conn-Clarke are back next Saturday.
Fair play to Dorking who left 3 on the half way line ar corners and wanted to play, but when you're centre halves ate that poor you will ship goals
-
I was one who would criticise him, but he had a top game. He is looking much fitter and stronger. They weren't great but that was a quality no.9 display and he deserved the goal at the end.
-
I've been one of his biggest critics, but he ran his socks off today, and terrorised their centre backs. Still needs to work on one-on-one situations with keepers though.

If Barrows was withdrawn owing to a concussion issue, won't the associated protocol rule him out from playing against Gateshead in the FA Cup?
-
He had a great game. I hope there’s more to come.
Don’t look back Dinanga….
-
I wonder whether the decision to withdraw him at half time rather than at the time of the injury may have been a ruse to sidestep the concussion protocol to which you allude
-
Could they get away with it though? You're the ref... (Yes that is a reference to the newspaper cartoon).

Burger and chips at half time 😀
