Miles has the close control of a championship player, and reeves scored the first. he claims it came off the back of his head.

Shaun Densmore and Michael Twiss both had outstanding games today. How their keeper saved Reeves' shot in the second half will forever remain a mystery. We had some good spells today and more importantly we also showed some balls when it really mattered.

A very hard-earned and welcome 3 points.

I don't go often but I have seen the last 2 games and actuallythere wasn't much to choose between them. Today we took chances and last week we didn't. Better team in both, away from home. I think there are good things to look at, not least actually scoring a goal at Histon!

Todays game was a prime example of what is right and wrong about our team:-  In the first half Histon sat back and were happy to let us have the ball, playing counterattacking football.  In the second they pressed us all over the pitch.  Just like at home if teams sit off us like in preseason we do very well, if they press as in the away and fa cup / trophy games we are vunerable

Today we were simply brilliant at times

It's not biased to say we'd play every team off the park if we played like that every week

In the second half we stood firm and absorbed a lot of pressure, and of course had a little bit of luck

Very happy this evening

I'm still getting twinges in my happy area thinking about some of the touches miles made. That and lawries goal were enough to keep me going for a week...

That second Lawrie goal seemed to happen in slow motion.

The first 20 mins was low quality from both sides as they struggled to get a foothold.  Then we turned into Brazil and murdered them up until half time even after their equaliser.

It was so classic Alty script for them to score just after half time to set up the rest of the game.

However we worked very very hard and there were chances at both ends.  No lack of bottle shown today.

A lot of players had good games today.

Mention for Miles who looked dangerous coming forward, Reeves was Reeves but for me Densmore and Twiss were excellent.  Densmore played like the Dens of old and Twiss was a real handful for them.  Lawrie caused them problems on the wings as well.  They had a couple of good players and a couple of really sh*t ones but they looked OK when they went forward.

One of the tensest games I've watched for a while with Alty but great spirit to hang on.

Still room for improvement but its 3 points and 3 goals from Histon.

What about that effort  in the second half from the lawrie which hit the bar?

That would have been an amazing hattrick

For 45 mInutes that was embarrassingly one sided as Histon 'We're not John Beck' Village attempted to out football us. We played some top class stuff in the first 45 and Histon came back strong second half but 3-2 Alty is fair enough.

Maybe our luck is changing (them hitting the woordwork twice)  :o In the season so far we dont seem to have too many games where lady luck smiled on us.
