What's this then?
« on: September 19, 2013, 08:20:41 PM »

To the east of North Ferriby FC is this.

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=53.717262,-0.49935&spn=0.001048,0.00284&t=h&z=19

I'm intrigued. It looks like a golf driving range but it' only as wide as the pitch.
No idea what that funny bit at the top is.

Anybody got any ideas?

I believe they are junior pitches named after Dean Windass, think he started out there and is probably the reason the club have come so far up to today.

Dean Windass started out at North Ferriby and moved around afterwards for some decent fees, some of which could well have had clauses attached to Ferriby, that was my point . Where do I even hint that he may be bankrolling them? I merely suggested his involvement may have kickstarted the club.

He's had a rough few years lately.  He was on the radio not so long ago discussing depression, suicide attempts and drink problems, poor bloke.  No idea if he is involved with NFU but good luck to the bloke.

Have travelled to North Ferriby a few times over the years and the ground is quite a pleasant ground with a smallish but welcoming clubhouse. The Humber Bridge is visible behind one of the goals and the ground is situated in a small village.

We saw that last time we played there...and lost.

Hmmm what? Moved from North Ferriby to Hull City in 1991, then Aberdeen, Oxford, Middlesbrough and so on? The point is?

the point is that Dean Windass handful of games more than 20 years ago has nothing whatsoever to do with North Ferribys recent rise to the conference north

you suggested that Dean Windass was the reason that North Ferriby "have come so far up today"
