Title: Message to Vics Management and Owners

Alty got the hottest property in non-league football to re-sign BECAUSE of the attitude and the approach Altrincham F.C. have towards finance and people.

"whatever we offered to pay him, we would pay him. It might not be the biggest financial deal on the table, but it was one that would be honoured every week" (Grahame Rowley).

If you don't get it this means don't promise what you have no chance of delivering.  What you do agree to pay, you pay. On the day it's due. Not a penny less, not a penny more.

I am so proud of Alty for being able to make that sort of statement.  The foundations for that financial approach were laid by Geoff Goodwin and it is superb  to see that ethos continuing.

Can't we just enjoy re-signing Reeves without making pious posts about how great we are?

Vics are a mess run by crooks/idiots and are playing in a sh*t regional league, while even before the news about Reeves we were assembling a side (hopefully) able to challenge for promotion to the Conference.

Going on about it just makes us look a bit smug.

I'm actually in agreement with Jimmy Hill here.

We, as fans, get spectacularly arsey when someone else criticises or takes the piss yet, on the other hand, think that we have a divine right to do so ourselves.

Let's just celebrate the news that Reevesy has stayed

Completely agree. We dont half come across like a bunch of self-righteous idiots sometimes.

Yes, we are a well run club, but only as a result of nearly being badly run into the ground. Rubbing into Vics fans faces is pathetic. Just leave the dying dog at the side of the street and move on.
