I was also at that very poor 0-0 draw against BPA at Valley Parade and I think it was an Easter Saturday Fixture. The coach got lost on the way as it went to Odsel the Rugby League ground.I also remember us losing to Runcorn in 1975 at Gresty Road, I think in extra time. The only ones that I didnt go to on the below list was Rochdale and Hereford. I dont recall us ever playing at Hartlepool. I forgot about Colchester and Gainsboro at Chesterfield
Everton
SC**thorpe (both games were at the Old Show Ground)
Blackburn
Rochdale
Doncaster (match was against Scarborough or did we lose to Doncaster in the conference – and again change of stadium?)
Stoke (match was against Eastbourne)
Blackpool
Birmingham
Sheffield United
Hereford

Ah yes, my delayed response but no cheating was involved.

What a tease Barry !

Right, the New Malden entry.

St Andrews, Birmingham; Goodison Park, Everton, Bramall Lane, Sheffield, The Old Show Ground, SC**thorpe, Britannia Stadium, Stoke, Bloomfield Rd, Blackpool, Ewood Park, Blackburn, Spotland, Rochdale, now then..........Pirelli Stadium, Burton........or.......Glanford Park, SC**thorpe?

Do I win a cuddly toy?

Rocky - the game that comes to mind was the draw at WHL in the FA Cup - we then lost the replay which was played at Maine Road (ground no longer exists). I don't remember losing 3-0 at Spurs but I am trawling the depths of my memory! More than happy to bow to the astonishing knowledge on fellow forumers!

January 7th 1995 iirc.

sC**thorpe and blackpool?

why do i think aldershot?

jim,

SC**thorpe United relocated to Glanford Park from The Old Showground (where we drew on two occasions) in 1988.

Close call with Aldershot Town: in four visits there, we only lost once (March 2008).

Here goes for the 2nd time (how could I forget Blackpool and Sheff Utd?)

Goodison Park - Everton FA Cup
Saltergate - Gainsboro - Unibond Cup Final
Ewood Park - Blackburn FA Cup
Britannia Stadium - Conf Play Off
St Andrews - Birmingham FA Cup
Layer Road - Colchester Conf
Valley Parade - Bradford PA NPL
Edgar Street - Hereford Conf
Spotland - Rochdale FA Cup
Bloomfield Road - Blackpool FA Cup
Bramhall Lane - Sheff Utd FA Cup

I make that ELEVEN!

JTH,

I have to confess that Valley Parade is one venue that totally escaped me, so the revised target figure is TEN grounds.
Hats off to you for recollecting that gem!

Indeed, on our two vists there, we recorded two draws at Layer Road against Colchester United.
However, they moved to a new stadium in 2008, so that one is ineligible.

I don't recall playing at valley parade.  any dates???

1974 - a dour 0-0 draw, this was in the Heslopoian bobble hat shouting "abuse" era.  BPA were playing their last NPL season in their original incarnation at Bradford City's ground. Being a ball boy I was allowed to get a free trip on the team coach and put the shirts out before the game! Most memorable moment was witnessing Tony Sanders having a go at Graham Heathcote all the way back on the M62 for being a pansy for not fancying it because of the muddy pitch. I think I had chicken and cashew nuts for my tea and later on watched Kojak and Parkinson on the telly.

JTH,

It was on 23rd March 1974.

Who was the main guest on Parkinson that night then...?

What about

Hartlepool
SC**thorpe
Darlington?

That would make 14!

Brian,

You've overdosed on the red wine again, I'm afraid...!

We've played (and defeated) Hartlepool at Moss Lane but have never played them on their ground.

As for Darlington, we played at their old ground, Feethams, on two occasions:
(i) 0-0 in the FA Cup in 1983;
(ii) a 2-0 defeat in the GM Vauxhall Conference back in February 1990.

They relocated to their present stadium in 2003.

Re. SC**thorpe United: I refer you to my previous posting...

So, JTH takes the plaudits and wins a tour around Altrincham in an open-top Goodwin's bus.

The TEN grounds are as follows:

1. Goodison Park: Everton (FA Cup);

2. Saltergate, Chesterfield: Gainsborough Trinity (Unibond Cup Final);

3. Ewood Park: Blackburn Rovers (FA Cup);

4. Britannia Stadium, Stoke: Eastbourne Borough (Conference North v South Play-Off Final);

5. St. Andrews: Birmingham City (FA Cup);

6. Valley Parade: Bradford Park Avenue (NPL);

7. Edgar Street: Hereford United (Conference);

8. Spotland: Rochdale (FA Cup);

9. Bloomfield Road: Blackpool (FA Cup);

10. Bramall Lane: Sheffield United (FA Cup).

So Chesterfield is the only one that I missed.

How many current Premiership and Championship grounds have we played on and lost?
I make it 9
