Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Maidenhead Match Thread
« on: September 25, 2023, 01:50:39 PM »
For me, why change a winning team.

Barring injuries/fatigue, same starting 11 for me.

Come on Alty
Maidenhead are pretty good defensively and someone else fast on the break might be useful.
Whilst they've actually conceded less goals than we have (15 from 11 games) they clearly have problems up front, since they've got the second worst strike rate in the league with only 7 goals scored. If we keep it tight at the back I can see us not having too many problems.

Maidenhead 0-1 Alty (Donawa)
Very much agree with this now the league appears to be taking some kind of shape after the raft of topsy turvy results . Away wins are still never easy so that scoreline will do very nicely thank you 👍

The 9-2 home win over Merthyr was 11 days before the 6-2 win at Boston and came during our record 28 match unbeaten run , we were flying , though the season was destined to end in huge disappointment of course . Memories from the York Street thrashing include Asa Hartford playing for Boston and in the bar afterwards rival bosses Peter Morris ( Kettering ) and Martin O' Neill ( Wycombe ) deep in conversation !

Yeah agree Donowa was superb . That's the way to strike back from a lean spell of results   when we're on the front foot we can beat anyone . The Newby impresed too 😀
Three unbeaten so off we go 🤞

Talking of Mid-Cheshire groundsharers, Northwich Vics have been told they have to leave Witton at the end of the season, by the way.

Oh dear, what a shame. Never mind.
No need to be Sarky Saughall 😊

« on: September 03, 2023, 05:11:42 PM »
After 55 years of coming to Moss Lane i still feel a growing sense of excitement and anticipation the closer i get to the ground on matchday , in many ways it's just like my first match as a kid all that time ago . We all know it needs a ton of stuff to bring it up to scratch but personally it won't quite be the same if we were to leave our sacred home .

Barely deserved even one point . We were second best most of the game and i thought Fylde played really well. Ah well , still unbeaten and tomorrows another day.
