Title: Sportsman's Dinner Competition - Pick Your All Time Manchester United XI
Post by: (S)ALTY on March 29, 2011, 12:25:06 PM
As you should be aware ,the club are holding a sportsman’s dinner at the Cresta Court Hotel on Friday 15 April. (Tickets still available !) The special guest is former Manchester United player and manager Wilf McGuiness.

On the evening, the club are holding a competition and have invited Wilf to name his All Time Manchester United XI. The person whose team mostly resembles that team selected by Wilf McGuiness on the night will win!

For anyone who can't make the event on the 15 April, you can have the opportunity of entering the competition beforehand by picking up and completing an entry form.

The entry fee is just £2.00

Forms will be available in the Noel White Suite and at the TASC desk in the club shop before and after tonight's game v Southport and Saturday's match at home to Cambridge United.

All entries must be received before the Dinner on 15th April. Entries can be handed in at the TASC desk or any TASC committee member before or after tonight's or Saturday's match.

Good luck !

What's the prize?

At previous Sportman's Dinners (where the competiton hasn't been open to non attendees) it has been a bottle of champagne on the night.

Dependent on the numbers who enter that can't attend on the night, we may well go for a proportion of the total entry pot as a cash prize or a second bottle of champagne for those who don't attend ?

At the end of the day the idea is to raise much needed funds and it is being opened to non attendees of the dinner to hopefully  increase the revenue.

Thanks for the info. Was just that if anyone wanted to try and get friends to enter, that would usually be the first question.

I'm going to chip in the name of the somewhat crappy Karel Poborsky.  then there is the goalkeeper/clown from the 1970s whose name slips my mind.  He wasn't their first choice beiong fair....blimey forgotten his name now...terrible he was.

The infamous Gaelic Fish, cost United a title and Ireland a place in the 1976 Nations Cup. Lovely guy, but a calamity in goal. Lost his place in the United set up to a 19 year old Gary Bailey.
