My (hopeful) target for the season was 60 points (the original one, at the start, was 46!).
With the 4 wiped off due to Chester's demise that gives 56.
I must admit that after the fantastic season we've had I'd be "disappointed" at that (ungracious, I know).
If we can beat Kiddie or Cambridge and salisbury, there's still a chance isn't there?
We always pick up unlikely points being the unpredicatable Alty we all know and love so where do YOU think we'll pick up those points (or, indeed, where are the banana skins?)

On the one hand, we're safe for this season so that's ok.
On the other, we alty fans wouls all love to win this more than perhaps any other match that's still left to play this season.
I'm sure the players and management know this and because of that (and because we are the mighty Alty) I'm going for a repeat of last season ... 3-1 to the Supers!

« on: March 26, 2010, 09:09:40 PM »According to JL's forecast we'll finish 11th on 61pts which will, according to Cult's summary, be our best finish since the 93-94 season. I appreciate we have to play the top teams but even with a depleted squad we're looking very difficult to break down.
C'mon lads - big push for the line.
Hate to be pedantic but it would be the best since 1994-95. Still fifteen years though! I'd settle for that

If they're looking to raise a quarter of a million in the short term, as has been said elsewhere, that means a fiver for a programme - and everyone forced to buy one (!) - , £100 to get in at the gate (with the pies playing the expenses and players wages) and they've cracked it! *
Perhaps they should charge to get out? They might make a lot more money that way.

I'm (at least honest) pretty new to Alty (FC).
In brief, google "James robinson altrincham" and read the BBC sport article about us losing 18 points. That was allegedly orchestrated by FGR in the person of their then secretary Colin Peake ... Hence Bad Karma on here = 'Peake' ; Good Karma = 'Goodwin' (i.e. our chairman)
And have a Goodwin for your honesty.

They were bottom of the old 4th division and the manager came out with a classic quote describing the problem as "we have no money to buy anyone and nobody good enough to sell". Good to see them on the way up after all these years.
If I'm not mistaken,that chap went on to become our player-manager! (he was ok too!) If I'm also not mistaken he was in charge when we won the NPL cup at Macc! *
*Having said that, I AM a bit of a fossil and my memory's starting to play tricks on me!
