and the last completely no connection with Alty appointment (Bernard was in house) was Gerry Quinn back in 1992. Hopefully we'll have another brand new face this time too.

My Geography teacher did well in patches, though they were on his elbows!

FA Cup 2nd Round and 10th in the Conference.

Not a bad effort really.

Quinn had never managed at such a level, and came into a post Stan Allan Alty with a demoralised squad and a slashed budget.  He cleared the decks, took us to 10th in the Conference, the 2nd round of the cup and brought in some of the backbone of the next few seasons, Carmody, France, Harris etc. Yes he signed some dross and it was a stuggle at times but given how his predecessor and successor did, I thought Quinn did pretty well in the circumstances.

Bimson was on trial here in the summer of 1994 but opted to join Macc instead.

We signed Darren Heesom instead.

Quinn did well enough.  He had a fondness for signing players from Emley some of whom were not up to scratch. 7/10 for Mr. Quinn.

I think that Bimson played for Alty in a pre-season friendly on at least one occasion.

Heesom returned to Moss Lane in February 1994 when Kingy was summoned back after Paul Rowlands had been dismissed.
