Title: Appeal
Post by: John Edwards on September 17, 2020, 07:12:58 PM
There's an urgent appeal on the club's official website now, if anyone can help with it.

The only one I can think of is the pitch at the speedway stadium at Belle Vue, but I know the club has used it before so it's probably one of the fifty no-goes.

Carrington (Surely Man U can spare a pitch!)

Heard Moss Rose wasnt being used this season?

Or Sandbach Community Football Centre, where Macc used to train?

What's Gigg Lane looking like nowadays?

I assume Sale Rugby have said no to using their facilities??

Does Sale / Altrincham Grammar still have a 3G pitch??

Platt lane @ MMU may also fit the requirements?

I'm sure you've seen the FA list of pitches -

Alty grammar has an artificial pitch, and as far as i can recall from my time there some changing rooms.

Sale Grammar never bothered to rent it out whenever I've made enquiries.

Yep, the facilities are very good.  The pitch isn't the best quality but I'm sure it would be more than enough for the lads over the winter (it's fine in PE and we've used it in all conditions you can imagine - gets a bit slippy sometimes though!)

Just some recommendations for the club to try if haven't already:

The Grammar at Alty Boys
BTH all-weather pitch
Partington Sports Village

If not, this would be the perfect opportunity for the premier league and FA to show they really do care about the game at the lower levels and for United or City give the club a hand.

A lot of kids' teams train there during winter and whenever I take my son there the place is rammed.

There's a recently relaid artificial pitch where I live...but no changing facilities and it is on an island off the Scottish coast...and if you don't get the 8.30 ferry to Largs you're stuck!

But apart from that...!
