FA cup hangover

A big reality check tonight. In the first half we were sluggish and found lacking in all departments. It wasn't until the appearance of Duncan Watmore that we actually looked like scoring, but with 30 minutes left and needing two goals, it was never going to be easy.

Fair play to Workington, they were organised, battled hard and played nice football in parts. We made two mistakes and they punished us with two goals and in all fairness could have had a couple more if it wasn't for a few decent saves by Coburn.

Overall, very disappointing and it feels like Saturdays hard work has been undone. Whilst our cup run has been great, the league is our bread and butter and the majority of tonights performance was stale. Hopefully tonights result was just a blip and we can hit the ground running on Saturday, rather than taking an hour to get out of first gear.

Well minds need to be firmly on the task in and in the coming weeks. Its a great chance to make some money at burton from the £18,000 prize money, but its no glamour tie, they were out numbered at home this evening crowd wise against port vale.So lets concentrate on Solihull and Guiseley first and foremost. Ive lost count of the number of times we've got to the cusp of the play offs only to stutter.Lets hope its only a blip, and we can get right back on track on saturday.

Sorry but don't agree with that at all.  Burton is really just another game against a non league club, they'll play in front of bigger crowds at Chester and maybe Halifax.

If it was Utd maybe but it's not and it was three games away.

We can't on the one hand be underwhelmed by an FA cup draw and then on the other use it is an excuse for last night. It was more a case of injuries, rash defending and a great performance from their number 11.

It was more of a case of we were not at the races and Reeves again being marked out of the game.

We may just have to get used to the idea that we will find it easier to play away from home than at home, but it is fair to say that too many were off the boil last night. I'm not sure that the FA Cup as such has that much to do with it.

I think we'd have got all 3 points if they didn't have their number 11.

Aye, they'd have had only 10 men!
